wasted talent
v1/2 wrx / bc5 rs legacy, g4+ plugin ecu only one radiator fan comes on when set temp is reached even if all 3 fan settings are identical. both fans activate with a/c. with oem ecu, both fans come on at specified clt temp. has anyone come across this issue before and remember what was at fault? Vaughan
if you change each fan output to test on do all fans turn on?
wasted talent
fan 1 turns on in test mode but 2 and 3 do not. something odd happening that needs deeper investigation I think
Adamw
Pretty sure in the legacy only 1 fan is controlled by the ecu, the condensor fan just turns on with the AC clutch. With the engine idling, try setting aux 6 to test ON (AC Clutch) and see if the fan comes on.
wasted talent
resolved the issue. there is a 3 pin plug on the AC compressor, 1 pin is clutch, 1 is gnd and the last one shorts to gnd under certain conditions (no gas maybe?). one wire was shorting to gnd which stopped fan 2 operating.
