Oldmanz350
Hi, Link G4X 350Z PnP I'm installing a Surge Tank with staged twin fuel pumps. I want to get Right the First time. 1. I will be using the stock Trigger wire for the Factory In-tank fuel pump (lift pump), as well as triggering Pump #1 Relay for the Surge tank. 2. These fuel pumps will be staged. (Pump #2 coming on about 7psi) Pump #2 has it's own Relay. 3. What is a good way to Trigger Pump #2 Relay? 4. Would it be possible to use Aux 14 or 15 of Expansion Connector 1 as the trigger? If so, is it just a Switch to Ground, so that I would connect 12 volts to the opposite side of the coil on the Relay? 5. Or sure I just use a Hobbs? (wiring diagram for ref)
koracing
Yes Aux 14, 15, or 16 will be ground switching so can trigger your relay ground terminal just fine. You would assign a GP output to that Aux and then set up the parameters that you desire whether it's a particular duty cycle on the injectors, or at a specific psi. You'll want an off delay so you don't end up hitting that threshold and having it trigger the relay off and on quickly or create a hysteresis value in the logic so that once it switches on (at say 7psi) it won't switch off until it falls below a lower boost level (say 5psi). Let me know if you need help getting that sorted out.
Oldmanz350
Kris, I think I can handle the software, But I may need your help at some point. So for wiring Pump 2 relay? 1 side of coil coming from 12V Stock fuel pump trigger wire, and the other side going to Aux 14, Expansion cable, ECU Thanks so much for your help, Tim

Oldmanz350
Can anyone verify that the wire Color on EX Connector 1 for AUX 14 is BROWN ? I could not find a diagram for wire color. Does anybody have a diagram with wire color? Thanks, Tim
Adamw
The wire colours of the xs looms has varied a bit over the 20 odd years we have made them, so you really need to open up the case and confirm with the label on the board. Aux 14 is probably white if you loom is less than a few years old. Another way to verify is you could put a volt meter on it, it will have 12V with the aux off, then set aux 14 to test mode to see if the voltage goes to zero. Oldmanz350
Yea, ECU installed in car with xs loom wires exposed, would be so easy to just identify terminal by wire color. XS Loom is just 6 months old. Working on my back under the dash is not easy for the old man.... lol Well, It is want it is! I'll have to verify with TEST & a Volt Meter, no big deal. Thank You Adam, Tim
