Evolink G3 on Mitsubishi Lancer VI 1997 Ck1A

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I want to ask you if it is possible to use the evolink G3 on this  car that has an ecu with same (4)pins.

The car is a mitsubishi lancer VI 1997 (CK1A) and has the 4g13 engine 1300cc 12v with map sensor and dizzy.

Stock ecu model:MD328466

Thank you very much.

  • tioklou changed the title to Evolink G3 on Mitsubishi Lancer VI 1997 Ck1A

The pinout is very similar to the Evolink.  Obviously the evolink is only suitable for a manual transmission, so you cant use it if you have auto trans.  Fuel pump and air conditioning relay are swapped but should work by just changing the assignment in the software.  The factory MAP sensor goes to a pin that is not connected to anything in the Evolink, but the evolink G3 had its own MAP sensor anyhow so you will just need to connect the hose.

Thank you very much.

I have a manual  transmission so we are fine.

I also have a few questions.

1. How about the dizzy connection?

2.I have also a rear O2 sensor that is not seen in the ecu pinout picture.

3. Tps sensor, air intake temp sensor, coolant temp sensor,ISC motor, crankshaft sensor are in the same pins?

4. immobiliser

(The evolink G3 i want to use is for mitsubishi evo 7-8).

  1. It will work as is.  Set the trigger mode to match whatever it has on the toothed wheel inside the distributor.  Set ignition mode to distributor.
  2. Rear o2 is not used.
  3. Yes.
  4. Immobilizer will no longer work.

The G3 Evolink is not specific to Evo7-8, it does Evo 1-8.

Thank you for one more time for you useful information and your help.

So distributor needs only software tuning through the ECU?

I will try to find the information about toothed wheel on the distributor and i will ask your help for  calibrations.

Is there something else i need to take care of?

Thank you.

The G3 does not have knock control.  The expansion loom part number is #XSL or SKU 101-0106, available from any Link dealer.  The G3 Evolink has 1 analog input, 1 temp input and 2 digital inputs on the expansion connector.

Thank you for the loom part number. I thought evolink is like linkplus and has Knock control input.

So distributor only needs the appropriate values on software and nothing more.

Is there anything else to have in mind before first start up?

Hello again,

I have in my hands the evolink G3. The Ecu doesn't have an internal map sensor but only an external unit.

How will i connect it because you said that "factory MAP sensor goes to a pin that is not connected to anything in the Evolink"

On its back side has a hidden usb port. behind a sticker.

I attach some pictures of the ECU map sensor and cables.

Of course it is and i have already read it. But the problem is that this ECU is for evo and the information is to connect it on the exhisting AFM connector. The engine i have does not have a AFM but only map sensor. Is it possible to tell me the pins of of the stock evo ecu and the pins of the evolink to connect it?

Thank you for all your help.

After giving it some thought, you can use the factory MAP sensor, move the map sensor signal wire from pin 85 to pin 90 at the ecu connector.  The Factory MAP sensor will then be connected to "Load 2" input.

I dont see any reason why that wouldnt work.

But you only need to move 1 pin.  You dont need to cut any wires or anything, just extract the pin out of the connector and move it to the new position.
