MichaelR32GTR
Hello without using a timing light, can you see what your actual base timing is using the software ? I need to check my base timing, but I came across the runtime value page (f12), click the “ignition” tab and it shows “ign angle (BTDC)” 13.0 is this correct or am I way off in thinking this
dx4picco
The goal of using a timing light is to confirm what the software think is for example is 10°, is actually 10 physical degrees on your engine. You can put whatever value you want as base timing, the end goal is that it matches your engine spark timing. No skips possible without timing light JeremiahJ and MichaelR32GTR

MichaelR32GTR
On another note can base ignition timing be set while cranking the car, cold ? or should the car be running when hot to check?
dx4picco
A cold cranking check is use full to know if you are in the right ball park. But a warm check at different rpm should be done to check for timing drift MichaelR32GTR
