Bronte vincent
Hi there I've got a rover v8 3.9 running a link g1 on standard dizzy with the Injector trigger coming from the tach wire on the -ve sensor on the coil but I'm wanting to change over to a hei distributor with built in coil from a sbc with the land rover gear drive adapted on but my problem is now the new dizzy eliminates the old coil and ignition module and is all in one unit with just a tach sensor wire and a 12v feed wire to power the dizzy, question is can I use the tach wire from new dizzy to plug into the link as some people say yes and some say no because the voltage can be around 12v on the sensor wire and fry the ecu, is there a voltage reducer to.reduce it to a safe voltage for the ecu to read as the trigger? Cheers for help
Adamw
Can you give us a photo of the ecu with the cover off so we can see what trigger subboard it has in it. Can you clarify what ecu trigger 1 was connected to on the old set up - direct to the coil negative post or something else?
