AN7
Hello guys. I have a question regarding the knock control of a Link G4 storm(not plus); in the PC Link G4 software there is an option for knock control, which I am assuming that is done by using an external module. Was ever a Link produced module? Are there any recommendations for a module that is compatible with the ecu? Or don't waste my time and money and get a new/newer ecu that has build in knock control? Adamw
The G4 storm needed a device known as the "G4 Knockblock", this was a standalone tuning device or could also be connected to the ecu. We havent manufactured them for several years and you dont see them come up for sale very often as they were quite a good tuning tool. No other standalone device will work as well as the knock block as there was bidirectional communication between the ecu and knockblock - the knock window event was sent to the knock block and the knock block done the filtering etc then sent back a knock level. The G4X Atom and Monsoon now have knock control built in and plug straight in to the Storm harness (just no stepper motor control on Atom or Monsoon).
