An experienced tuner will really need to set it up and validate the knock control is capturing knock events. You need a standalone audio device to set it up properly. S.Violette Posted April 3, 2022 Author Report Share Posted April 3, 2022 Found the normalized knock reading in the ECU. BMW S50 engine has 2 OEM knock sensors installed. While tuning/logging, the normalized readings appear very accurate. Normalized reading is “1” on scale. I have seen 4 or 5 on scale in single incidences under heavy load/throttle. Nothing sustained.
