Adamw
If the ignition mode is set to direct spark then using the ignition test function there will be a spark signal sent to each coil. If you get now spark when doing that then you have a wiring issue somewhere. Do you have an LED test light?
Simon Trent
i unpinned the ground wire for coil one and put a new wire to the battery ground and ran a test and it works now. i think my problem was reusing the power and ground that went to the stock 20v coil is the problem. the ground wire must go threw the 20v ignitor and was keeping it working. even though if i had the ignitor pluged in and grounded to get 12v at the coil it still wouldn't fire. got some rewiring to do tonight. Adamw
The wire from the ignitor is not a "ground", with the stock coil this wire would only be grounded during the dwell period (ie, about 3ms every TDC). Smart coils should be grounded to the cyl head. Simon Trent
