S13Sky
just got my car running today. it idles fine for about 15 seconds then dies. not sure if my cas is to blame but whenever its about to die, a lot of noise shows on the graphs. Confused
Please also share your tune/configuration - the pclx file. If it's a repeatable 15 seconds, it sounds like it could be some kind of cold start fuelling value which is decaying over/after this period. Adamw
I dont see any obvious issues in your log, possibly not enough fuel as Confused suggests or maybe idle base position is too low so when the startup offset decays the valve closes too much and there is not enough air. There doesnt appear to be any trigger issue.
S13Sky
fuel table.pclx We increased pre start enrichment value to double or triple stock. Using id1050x if that’s useful info
Adamw
Try it with idle base position set to say 50% right across. I dont see a whole lot wrong otherwise.
S13Sky
Okay we’ll try that when he comes back. Also I followed the aem uego series x to can 1 instructions and it still won’t recognize on the computer. Not sure what’s wrong as I did everything and even terminated can L and can H to a 120 ohm resistor per aem instruction.
Adamw
What do you mean by "not recognised"? Are you getting CAN errors reported or just no data coming through on the lambda1 parameter? Can you attach your tune.
S13Sky
no data when going to can set up - can devices - find devices. fuel table.pclx
Adamw
Your map didnt attach for some reason. The "Find devices" tool is only for reprogramming Link CAN devices, it will not find 3rd party devices.
S13Sky
Okay no wonder. I think it’s working now. Still having the idling issue. Runs for about 20 seconds now. right before it dies everything goes parabolic. Adamw
I dont see anything obvious ECU related at all. Can you try changing the engine capacity to 2500cc as a test (this is an easy way to add extra fuel), see if it runs longer.
S13Sky
We did that and same thing. Changed cas properly and we couldn’t get the timing gun to light. Retarded the cas one tooth and got the gun to fire but the timing marks were around the 11 o clock position. Adjusted trigger scope and same thing. Looking into sending the ecu back to get checked
S13Sky
We went as high as +35 on trigger offset. Timing marks showed at around 11 o clock position. Do we go more?
Adamw
You adjust the trigger offset until the timing mark lines up with whatever you have set in the "lock timing to" field.
S13Sky
Okay we got it to +10 by going to negative eighty something. When we rev it’s not locking on the +10 even when we have the set base timing tab open. Car also still does out
Adamw
Do you have the timing light clamped around an HT lead between coil 1 and the sparkplug?
S13Sky
Yeah I’m actually using something like this https://www.amazon.com/Hantek-Extension-Earth-Diagnostic-Coil/dp/B09NC4L7CF We were using an old snap on adjustable timing gun
Adamw
I just noticed you have your spark edge set to rising. It should be falling.
S13Sky
Omg dude you got it to run! Thanks so much!
