Deklan
Hey guys Just installed a g4x plug and play but the fuel pump won't prime at all. Replugged in my stock ecu and worked no dramas but won't start on either ecu. Any help appreciated. Thanks
Adamw
Did you try the fuel pump jumper in the alternative position?
Deklan
Thanks mate! That did the trick, now primes. Still can't get it to start tho. I've set master fuel at 8ms seeings as I'm running 640cc injectors. However I don't have a wideband installed yet (waiting on right can cable), and iat isn't installed either. Would either of these stop it from starting? Thanks
Adamw
I would put that master up around 15ms for that size injector. If you attach a log of it cranking I will take a look to see if there is any other issue.
Deklan
Will do tomorrow. Thanks for your help!
Deklan
Hey mate, hopefully this was done right. Thanks PC Datalog - 2022-09-16 7;25;03 am.llgx
Adamw
There is no trigger 2 signal (cam) showing in that log. Can you do a trigger scope while cranking and attach that and a copy of your map. For the trigger scope go to >ecu controls>trigger scope, get the engine cranking and then click the capturee button while it is cranking, keep it cranking for a couple of seconds after clicking capture. Save that scope file.
Deklan
Sweeeet will do it in the morning. I appreciate your help! Thanks again
Deklan
Oh also, I don't have any spark either. Pulled a plug and tested it grounded out and no spark. Is that something that's apparent in the log?
Adamw
You won’t have a spark with the cam sensor not working
Deklan
attached. thanks TriggerScopeLog.llgx
Adamw
Yes, there is no signal from your cam sensor at all. It could be a wiring issue or a failed sensor. If you unplug the sensor and poke a paper clip or similar into the signal in the loom plug then touch that against ground on an off, you should see trigger 2 signal say "yes" when you do that is the signal wire is ok. Deklan
Checked the sensor and one of the pins was bent out of shape. Got it sorted now and starts! Thanks! Next question... Is there a way to get the alternator to work correctly or do I need to purchase a na8 self regulating alternator? My revs aren't showing on the dash either... Not sure if this linked however Thanks! Adamw
The alternator control should already be set up and working in our basemap. For the tacho, can you attach your tune
Deklan
attached, thanks. is there a way to check if the regulation for the alternator is all good? ive heard of people having problems with these alternators as they arent self regulated like the na8 one is. cheers mx5tune.pclx
Deklan
The tacho randomly moves. I have attached a vid 20220917_154221.mp4
Adamw
The alternator control wasnt set up in your map, I have set it up and attached below. Load this in and give it a try. For the tacho, can you try changing the tacho fuction output to Aux . mx5tune alt set up.pclx
Deklan
Thanks for that mate. Loaded it on this morn. Still has the battery light showing though, is that a problem? Ill try the tacho setup a bit later. Thanks again for all the help!
Adamw
Give us a pc log of it running so we can see what alternator control is doing.

Deklan
Hey Adam, did you get a chance to check that last log? having the car tuned next week and hoping to have this sorted first. Cheers!
Vaughan
that log shows Aux 3 having 0% Duty Cycle and frequency of 10Hz, are you sure the alt control is setup properly? also looks like alt control target and error aren't logged so can you go to Logging -> Setup logging and smack the Add All button down the bottom in the PC Logging tab please. Actually I've figured it out, your ecu firmware is 6.21 which is from before alternator control was added so upgrade your firmware then reload that map from Adam Adamw and Deklan
