Manito.Motor Posted December 29, 2022 Report Share Posted December 29, 2022 Hi, I'm use Ford IAC valve to 1uz engine, the pwm 200Hz, I have problems to achieve the desired RPM, I have doubts with the position of the valve, does the way in which air enters the valve influence its operation? Adamw Posted December 29, 2022 Report Share Posted December 29, 2022 Yes, most of those ford valves are a bit weird in that there is a diaphragm inside that uses manifold vacuum on one side to help actuate it. If it is fitted with vacuum on the wrong port they often dont work at all or are highly variable. The catch is that it is not easy to tell which port is the correct one from visual clues - Ford seem to have swapped the orientation around over different engines. If you do a google image search you can sometimes find a cross sectional view from a service manual that matches the valve you have and usually shows correct flow direction. Also, 120Hz usually works best on these. For example, 3 variations from a ford bronco below, all have the same flange, one is mounted pointing in the opposite direction of the other 2...
