byront8
Hello Setting up my ethanol sensor on my 1.8T Audi TT with the TTX Plug and play ecu. Trying to get my head around pinouts for it. Currently setup as follows: 12V from Aux 6 (Pin 64) - triggering on "ignition switch = Active" DI9 for signal input (Pin 28) - Pull-up "OFF", Active Edge "Falling" GND back to Pin51 (old O2 Sensor GND) Unit reports "FAULT" on the live runtime values page for the sensor under DI internal status - no fuel in the sensor as yet. Are my pinouts going to work, or am I overthinking this and should run the 12v off a switched live point instead? Are the settings for the sensor correct? (Small VDO sensor from MSEL) Cheers
Adamw
Aux outputs are low side drive - they switch to ground, so you cant use them to power a device. The 12V should come for an ignition switched source.
byront8
Hey Adam Thanks for the swift response, is that the case even if they are set to high side drive? The documentation appears to be allow them to supply 12V - which is does currently, Active State "HIGH", Drive Type "HIGH SIDE".

byront8
Hey Vaughan How can I tell if mine does? I'd like to use an Aux if I can - my ECU info is: Firmware 6.23.6 Bootcode 6.22.17 Main board 3.1 G4X Top board LinkID 23000 ECUMinspec 6.23 With the settings above, the sensor plug sees 12V with a multimeter across the VCC and GND Pins. Adamw
You ecu has lowside drives only. The aux will measure 12V with no load connected as they have a pull-up resistor. It will only be a few mA though so wont power a device.
byront8
Hey Adam Perfect, so drive the 12V off a switched live - GND back to the ECU is ok? Do I need to set the DI pullup to "ON", and the Active Edge "RISING"?
Adamw
Yes to all.
