BMW E30 M3 original Tacho signal with i88

Recommended Posts

I am just on the way to finish the engine loom for my BMW E30 M3 S14 engine.

I want to run the original dash for the engine speed with the Signal from the i88 - the signal for the ECU Comes from a 36-1 crank trigger wheel.

Has anybody experience how to wire/connect the original dash with a Vi-PEC ECU?

Thanks for your help!

In the glovebox compartment where the original ECU is, there is a small connector with 3 pins. The black wire on this is the tachometer, Just connect this to an Aux output.

There is also a green wire which is 12v with key on. The last one (usually white, varies a bit) is for the MPG gauge /OBC.
