Supra Plug and Play ECU

Recommended Posts

Hi

What I'm read, not all ECU's can handle the stock Twin Turbo setup and the VVT-i on the 2JZ-GTE.

What about the LINK G4+ Plugin Ecu? Can the stock Twin Turbo setup be handled with this ECU?

The product page says that the ECU is only for non-VVi-T engines. Can you explain why it doensn't work there and is there a workaround?

Are there a chance that a G4+ Furry Plug-in is aviable in some time? I really like the idea of internal wideband and a would like to have them on all Plugins, maybe as a option.

Thank you for answers.

The vvti motors use a different type of ECU loom plugs so the non vvti ECU doesn't physically plug in.  Workaround is to use one of the universal ECU's and a fields-type adapter harness to make a plugin loom if you don't want to mod the stock ECU.  For the twin turbo setup to work like factory, you will need to wire in all the control solenoids and then attempt to program the logic to control them like factory.  Or you can do a simpler TTC setup which is easier to control electronically: http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/articles/andy.htm

Thank you, that are usefull and valuable infos! which raises alot of quenstions.

That means all this solenoid aren't connected to the G4+ Plugin ECU, isn't it? So you need to wire the PCM Connector outputs to the factory harness or something similary and set them all up.

Has anyone tried that? hom much worse is it down low with the TwinTurbo conversion and a tune for it? What are your recommendations?

Which solenoid must be connected for the TT conversions? just boost control solenoid?

Thanks.

My understanding is the plugin is intended for Supra's with single turbo conversions.  Someone from link would need to confirm.

When you look at the pinout and function information for the supra plugin in the installation manual and help file, not all the twin turbo VSV's and actuators are wired.  Only 1x wastegate control solenoid on Aux4.

The high level pic of the stock system with the various control systems is this one:

A more detailed explanation of how the stock system works is here: http://www.max-boost.co.uk/max-boost/supra/turbo.htm

If you're willing to wire your spare outputs to the system and have a crack at programming the logic to make it work like factory, good luck to you :)

I took the simpler path with a GT35R on my vvti 2J

one other question

how many expansion connecters does the newest version Supra Plugin have? one or two?

Hi Mapper,

I have an old V88 file for that engine with all of the logic setup for the twins etc to work.

It would take some time on my behalf to sift through the literally thousands of PCL files I have.

Regards

Dave.

will be very kind if you could send me this map. Sound interessting to have a look on it.

Ok great. thanks Simon.

Can you add that to the help file, please? It's sometimes a bit difficult to see which ECU has which features  and connectors. As example LINK says that Plugin for cars which don't have a MAP senso from factory, has an inbuilt one. Problem is as an example JDM supras or Evo's do have a Map sensor from factory, but the EDM modells not. So a comparison chart will be helpfull.
