What's the best way to get my first base tune

Hey, I just got my G5,  plan to complete the migration of my harness from E67 to G5 this week.

I am new to Link.. been following the Link LS harness pinout from those instructions/readme's and plan on using the "GM LSx Gen4 DBW Xtreme base map.pclx" file as my base tune to start the car.

Once I get firmware updated on the G5, can I open the Xtreme Base file and transmit it to the G5 ?,  and will my software automatically add the extra values that my ECU supports (eg: E Harness Plug Pins, GPS, etc).

Then close the config file, connect to the ECU and download my new base tune with the G5 attributes ?

Or is there some other way to do this ?

Thanks !

yes you can load G4X maps directly into G5 ECUs. Main difference between the Voodoo Pro and Storm/Xtreme ECUs in terms of pinout is make sure you are powering both the Ignition pin on A6 and the Main power on A5, there are suggested power wiring diagrams in the G5 PCLink help manual.
