briand.vq35 Posted February 2, 2024 Report Posted February 2, 2024 I really hate to even ask; but at this point I don’t have a choice. I hope I’m not out of line or doing something frowned upon. I’m a loss though and really don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to tuning this thing. Does anyone have a tune or can someone remote tune for me? I lack the time and experience to get this car back driveable. I don’t have a way to get it to a tuner and the closest one is over 200 miles from me. My plan is to get it drivable and then make the trip. I can’t even find the time to take any classes working 16 to 18 hours a day right now. This thing is supposed to be my weekend stress relief, but I’m not getting any relief. If I can get some guidance I would really appreciate it. I can share mods and whatever files needed. Obnxs Initial base.pclx I have made changes to the Analog inputs/Lambda 1 already. Waiting for the Link CAN cable to be delivered so I can put the Lambda on CAN1 and get the factory CAN Bus working again. Quote
Confused Posted February 2, 2024 Report Posted February 2, 2024 There are people out there who will remote tune, but at this point, let's start with "what's wrong", or "what's not working" or "what are you trying to achieve"? There's a huge wealth of information and advice available here, and part of the fun for me is the learning - and understanding how this all pieces together. Don't forget and underestimate the Help available in the PC Link software - it's FANTASTIC and exceptionally detailed - the best Help I've ever seen in my time in the software industry. briand.vq35 and Timboj 2 Quote
briand.vq35 Posted February 2, 2024 Author Report Posted February 2, 2024 Guidance on where to start a tune and pretty much someone holding my hand and taking me through the process. I have gotten the car to idle, but beyond that I’m lost. Not sure if I need to work on the fuel table, VE, or timing. Is there a correct order? How do I determine my adjustments? Do I focus on one table at a time? With my lack of time now; just getting it to a safe tune to drive a couple hundred miles to a tuner and letting them have their way with it is fine by me. Figure if I’m lucky; the tuner will let me sit in and show me the ropes. Quote
Timboj Posted February 2, 2024 Report Posted February 2, 2024 If you're struggling to find a remote tuner then HP Academy and Evans Performance Academy are both fantastic resources for tuning on a Link and in general. Either will be able to upskill you pretty quickly in terms of understanding the various concepts and functions, and getting you up and running. If you're attempting this at home I would say at the bare minimum you would need wide band 02 sensors (at least one) and tune your VE table around safe AFR targets. Leave most of the base VQ settings (AFR targets/ignition timing etc) provided by Link, but adjust for injectors and fuel type. That should be enough to get to a tuner -maybe try to stay under 3/4000rpm until you're tuned to play it safe. That's where I started. briand.vq35 1 Quote

I was actually taking HP Academy’s EFI Courses before everything went wild at work. I don’t know why, but I didn’t know they offered remote tuning. Thanks! Quote
Timboj Posted February 2, 2024 Report Posted February 2, 2024 To clarify, they do not offer remote tuning. All I'm saying is those resources are your next best alternative. Btw, Eugune at Enthusiast Auto Care in CA comes highly recommended for remote tuning VQs. There's always Admin Tuning as well but there are mixed reviews out there. Reality is everyone is different degrees of time or $ poor. Your solutions will either be to throw money at the problem, or spend the time learning yourself. You'll get plenty of help in these forums or as Confused mentioned, the PC Link help documentation. Quote
koracing Posted February 7, 2024 Report Posted February 7, 2024 Drop me a line, I do remote tuning on a regular basis. [email protected] Quote
