Valter Posted May 16, 2024 Report Posted May 16, 2024 Hello, I'm having a problem when starting my car. It's an Evo3 with a G4X. The engine does a kickback before it starts up. I've triple-checked my timing with a strobe light, and it's correct. Today, I noticed that Link collected trigger errors when I started the engine, but only during cranking. Often, it does this once and then starts up, but this time, when I logged it, it happened five times. Could it be a bad trigger sensor, or is my timing of? trigger fel.llgx ny overrun och olje.pclx Quote
Vaughan Posted May 16, 2024 Report Posted May 16, 2024 Can you take a trigger scope and attach it here please. Quote

Adamw Posted May 17, 2024 Report Posted May 17, 2024 This scope looks quite normal, so it would be good to try to get a couple more that capture just the first couple of revolutions as you start to crank. This is a little trickier to do but try clicking the capture button about the same time or just a fraction of a second before you turn the key to start position. Quote
Valter Posted May 22, 2024 Author Report Posted May 22, 2024 I didn't get it to kick back before the starter gave up. Now I changed it and it works flawlessly. Thanks for the help @Adamw and @Vaughan! Quote
