BMW S50B30US Trigger Settings

Hey all, 

I am fairly new to the link G4x platform and I am attempting to write a base map for my 1995 S50B30US M3 (single vanos)on the link G4x e36 plug & play ECU. I have been reading the forums on trigger settings and I have not seen any threads regarding this specific engine and also do not see a trigger setting for the US S50 motor. Can I use one of the other listed trigger settings, S50B30Euro, S52, M52, ect? 

Once again this is a fun project of mine and my knowledge is limited, but I am very excited to learn. Any criticism or advice is welcome.

The S50US doesnt need a special trigger mode as it is just a generic 60-2 crank and single-tooth cam.  Set up like below with sync tooth set to 5.  The trigger offset will likely be around either 275 or -85.  The cam sensor in the middle at the front of the cam sprocket needs to be connected to trig 2, the sensor on the intake side behind the intake cam sproket needs to be wired to a digital input (DI1-4).  The Advance/retard solenoids need to be wired to Aux 1-4 and you need to cut off the factory connectors as they have diodes inside them.  The top solenoid is the advance (pressure), bottom is retard (bleed).

Just to be sure were on the same page, my motor the US S50b30 only has one cam position sensor, which is located on the intake side right behind the vanos oil feed line. The vanos on my motor is also just a 12v on or off solenoid. I attached a picture of my motor. (First Picture) 

 

The EU s50b30 does have cam sensors located in both of those locations as you described and has both an advance and retard solenoid. (Second Picture)
