WRX_555 Posted June 11, 2024 Report Posted June 11, 2024 Hi there, I’ve installed both a coolant and oil pressure sensors on an Impreza STI hatchback which has a G4X WRX 11 installed. These are the types of sensors that I’ve used (20 psi for coolant and 100 psi for oil): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166056288795?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=yf331ayvt3a&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=YoViKyIuQMW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY I am using an expansion loom and AN voltage pins 4 and 5 for these but I keep seeing very small voltages so I’m wondering if the ECU has a large internal resistance on these pins. I also tried pins 7 and 8 with similar results. I also briefly connected pin 8 to the board’s 5v supply and it registered around 0.5v. I have checked the sensor wiring and they receive 5v and ground and I have cranked the engine over to check oil pressure and the car’s built in oil pressure switch goes off as expected. I’ve also installed a similar type of sensor in another Impreza which has an G4X and have used an AN temp output for this, which worked fine. The only reason I haven’t done that for this car is that I only have one AN temp input on the board (AN temp 4). If you have any suggestions that would be brilliant as I’m struggling for ideas at the moment. Many thanks Quote
Vaughan Posted June 11, 2024 Report Posted June 11, 2024 An Volt 4, 5, 7 & 8 all have jumpers that need to be set correctly for them to be used as per the pinout. What position are these jumpers in? WRX_555 1 Quote
WRX_555 Posted June 12, 2024 Author Report Posted June 12, 2024 I had a look at the jumpers earlier and they were in the incorrect position! I swapped them over and all is working. Thanks for your help! Vaughan 1 Quote
