north_curve Posted July 8, 2024 Report Posted July 8, 2024 (edited) [edit] Updating this in case it helps anyone, the solution was to buy a $15 usb c to a hub from PB tech and use this instead of a genuine apple usb c to a adaptor - I tried this after reading online about a similar issue someone was having with some kind of laser cutting device - which they solved using this method. Supposedly this is something to do with a handshake that takes place when trying to connect and by using a third party hub this somehow causes it to use a different protocol or something along those lines. [/edit] Macbook Pro 2018 Intel chipset running Windows 10 via bootcamp. Anyone had success connecting to their link ECU with a similar setup? My non-mac Windows laptop connects to my ECU (GTRLink) fine but is a heavy pile of junk with a 15min battery life hence why I'm trying with my mac running windows instead. PC Link software and Drivers install ok on the mac. When plugging in USB I can see the ECU appear in device manager under COM3 with no apparent issues Opening PCLink I can see my ECU in the list as a USB connection - it also shows a second entry in the list with COM and nothing else - which doesn't happen on my non-mac When trying to connect it just comes back with various errors - have seen a bunch of different ones, such as "not responding", "not enough bytes ret" etc Have played around with different baud rates etc making sure they match in device manager and in the software Anyone else had similar issues and been able to get it working?
