alminc Posted July 30, 2024 Report Posted July 30, 2024 I am having trouble with the Link FuryX communicating with the Razor PDM to command the fuel pumps to run when commanded. Pump 1 comes on for three seconds as commanded but pump 2 and 3 come on and stay on regardless of weather or not commanded active from the Link FuryX. It seams no mater what I try pump 2 and 3 run un-commanded. The only way to turn off the pumps is to turn off the Mode in the PDM. Attached are the files for both the FuryX and the PDM. I have turned off both pump 2 and pump 3 Mode in the PDM so they will not run. I have also turned off the parameters in the GP Outputs in the furyX so as not to activate the pumps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jason 2JZGTE.16a PDM.pclx Jason PDM 8b.pdmc Quote
Vaughan Posted July 30, 2024 Report Posted July 30, 2024 So you can see the CAN Aux 3 & 4 statuses in PCLink showing inactive at the same time as you see the Fuel Pump 2 & 3 statuses showing active in PDMLink? Quote
alminc Posted July 31, 2024 Author Report Posted July 31, 2024 Here is a Link FuryX log showing the conditions. I was unable to save a log from the PDM. It said I needed permission to save or I needed to close the log file before saving. Here is how I did the test. Turned on and connected to both the FuryX and the PDM. Started the log in both the PDM and FuryX. At 1:38.642 I activated pump 1 via CAN Aux 2 Test. You can see both CAN Aux 2 - Fuel Pump and PDM 1 Hp Out 1 Current (A) turn on. At 1:57.351 I tried to activate pump 2 by turning on the CAN Aux 3 Test. You can see that CAN Aux 3 - Fuel Pump 2 go active but no output from the PDM 1 At 2:34:836 I activated Pump 1 by truning on the Test Mode in the PDM. At 3:17:143 I turned the Mode from off to High Side on Pump 3. You can see that Pump 3 shows 12.5 (A) or so current but no activation from the Link FuryX. At 3:36.052 I turned on Pump 1 from the PDM using Test Mode. At 3:48.247 I turned on Pump 1 From the FuryX using the CAN Aux 2 Test. Both went active. If I set either Pump 2 or 3 from off to High Side in the Mode of the PDM, The stay on until I either turn off the power or change the Mode from High Side to off. If Pump 2 or 3 is set to High Side in the Mode, as soon as I turn on the PDM both pumps run continuously. What am I missing? PDM fuel pump log.llgx Quote
Vaughan Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 How are the 3 pumps wired, are they all one side of pump grounded to chassis, other side of pump directly to PDM output pin? When looking at CAN Function 3 ("CAN F FP 2") and CAN Function 4 ("CAN F FP 3") do those statuses follow the ECU CAN Aux statuses correctly? Quote
alminc Posted August 1, 2024 Author Report Posted August 1, 2024 Yes, the 3 pumps are wired ground to chassis ground and power to PDM. Yes, I can activate (CAN F FP 2) using CAN Aux 3 - Fuel Pump 2 and I can activate (CAN F FP 3) using CAN Aux 4 - Fuel Pump 3. If Mode is set to High Side the pumps run constantly. If I turn the Mode off I can activate both (CAN F FP 2 & 3) from the Link FuryX and the (CAN F FP 2 & 3) show active when activated. Quote
Vaughan Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 Sounds like an issue between the CAN Functions and the output then if the CAN function statuses go inactive and active correctly as specified by the ECU but the outputs are always on regardless of the CAN Function state, I will hassle the PDM software people about what it could be. Vaughan Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 So it looks like the firmware in your PDM isn't actually the latest release firmware but actually has a pre-release firmware, please update that firmware (and most likely your PDMLink too) to the latest version on the website. Quote
alminc Posted August 1, 2024 Author Report Posted August 1, 2024 I updated the firmware to 1.6.745 Now all 4 high amp outputs falt. Before the firmware update I had no faults and output 1 and 4 were working as comanded. I can now log and save the pdm log. I tried to attached the PDM and Link FuryX log but both are too large to fit the max total size of 541.58 kB. It shows that I can command, to the on position each of the 4 outputs and the PDM shows active with each command. This is for sure a step backwards. Quote
alminc Posted August 1, 2024 Author Report Posted August 1, 2024 Another Note: I have completly removed Output 4 from any load to see if the fault clears. I still show a faut on all outputs as well as AIDO 1-4. Is there a way to clear the faults? Quote
Vaughan Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 Talked to one of the PDM Engineers and he says that having used that pre release firmware which was not intended for end users some of background configuration may be wrong. Please connect PDMLink to your PDM, reset the PDM to factory (PDM dropdown menu) and then recreate your map in the reset PDM using the same settings as you did before (but don't load the old map into the PDM). Quote
alminc Posted August 2, 2024 Author Report Posted August 2, 2024 I reset the PDM to Factory settings. I entered all of the same setup information into the PDM. I now can activate Fuel Pump 1 from the Link FuryX using the test mode and everthing works as it should. I now get a 3 second run of the fuel and lift pumps with ignition turned on as expected. Fuel pumps 2-3 or Water pump will not turn on from the PDM in test mode or from the FuryX. If I activate the pumps from the FuryX I get an active signal in the PDM but no pumps turn on. Status is off. I did test logs but they are too large to send. I have attached the PDM file and the FuryX File so you can confirm my settings. What am I missing? Jason 2JZGTE.16a PDM.pclx PDM file will not attach. (Error code: You can only upload a total of 36.74 kB.) OK Quote

alminc Posted August 4, 2024 Author Report Posted August 4, 2024 I was able to get the PDM to connect with the FuryX. I did another reset to factory in the PDM When I did the reset to factory the PDM would not respond and would freeze up. I turned off the PDM and disconnected power. I turned off the program and restarted the laptop. I plugged back into the PDM with the laptop without battery power connected. I did another reset to factory in the PDM. This time it did not freeze up. I disconnected from the PDM. Turned off the software. Restarted the laptop. Turned on the Software. Connected to the PDM. Reprogramed all of my settings and tested each output as I reprogramed it. Eveything works properly now! Quote
