BenAmr2turbo
Hi there, I was wondering if anybody could help me with an issue with my speed and mileage input for my 1.2 strada road dash to work correctly? I cannot find which input to set in the dash display for the mileage and speed, do I need to buy a GPS unit for the MXG for these to work? Thanks, Ben. Adamw
Does the ecu have a working speed sensor connected? BenAmr2turbo

DI3 wheel speed I assume is working but I haven't checked as having issues bleeding and not overheating. I don't mind purchasing the GPS unit if that's needed for the mileage Thanks, Ben. Edit: From what I understand the speedo itself would normally come from the dash, which obviously isn't connected anymore.
INSW20
What year MR2? Mechanical or electronic speedometer? On my mechanical speedometer MR2, I'm using an OEM cruise speed sensor for wheel speed input instead of the speed signal from the gauge back to the ECU. BenAmr2turbo
It's a 1992 - electronic speed sensor - e153 gearbox. Would having the GPS unit get rid of the need to alter the wiring again? Is the GPS speed better? Thanks Ben.
Adamw
The 4 individual wheel speeds are sent to the dash by default, but not the GP Speed Inputs. So assign LR Wheel speed source to DI3, when you do that PC Link will pop up with a message asking if you want to disconnect GP Speed 1, choose yes, and enter the same calibration value from the GP speed settings. Assuming the gearbox sensor is working then LR Wheel speed should show a speed in PC Link when the wheels are turning, the dash will receive the same. The dash chooses what speed input is used for the odo based on a hierarchy - GPS is first choice, then the hardwired "Speed 1-4" channels, then the ECU channels, so in RS3 on the channels tab, make sure the Speed 1-4 and GPS speed channels are unchecked, and on the ECU streams tab make sure "ECU Speed2" is checked. You can rename that to Vehicle speed or whatever you like. BenAmr2turbo

I also could not uncheck GPS speed in RS3 as it was locked.. Can I rewire the speed sensor signal directly to DI3 with an earth and 5v feed? Or should I use 12v? Thanks, Ben
Adamw
I was assuming they were a VR sensor bit a quick look at some pics online it looks like they have 3 pins, so try turning the DI3 pull-up on. BenAmr2turbo
