Ryan Strett Posted October 3, 2024 Report Posted October 3, 2024 Just did my first start on my jdm evo 8 after completing a top end rebuild. I’m ready to take it to my tuner but i was hoping to get the car running better myself so it can potentially be driven there. Currently it’s dying when trying to move it around too much as im using the base map provided by link with only my sensors calibrated into it. I was wondering if there was some sort of guide i could follow to get it running a bit better and actually hear my cams (sounds stock even though is has gsc s2’s). Quote
Vaughan Posted October 3, 2024 Report Posted October 3, 2024 Attach a copy of your tune, a pc log of it running and dying and some information such as injector size and if you are running a different fuel pressure etc. Quote
Ryan Strett Posted October 3, 2024 Author Report Posted October 3, 2024 I will get that sent across tonight, in terms of specs of the car: -GSC S2 cams - Walbro 460 hardwired (base pressure 43.5psi) - Stock injectors (to get it running) -57mm artgenari BB turbo -3.5” full turbo back I was hoping to drive the car to the tuner if possible but i’ll tow it if i can’t get it running alright. Vaughan Posted October 4, 2024 Report Posted October 4, 2024 Depends on what is in your tune, ignition idle control is one thing that will tend to smooth out an unstable idle. Quote
Ryan Strett Posted October 4, 2024 Author Report Posted October 4, 2024 i’m trying to do the opposite, currently it’s running smooth like a stock evo 8 (i assume because ur base map is based off a stock car). I have 274 cams and i’m trying to make the car actually sound like it’s cammed. Quote
Vaughan Posted October 4, 2024 Report Posted October 4, 2024 Which means that if ignition idle is on then turning it off may give you a rougher idle, but I don't know if it is or isn't as I haven't seen a copy of your tune. Quote
