Knock Control on the wrxlink g3

hi gentleman i purchaced a wrxlink g3 and noticed that there is no knock control function on the ECU,it should pick up detonation(if there is any and retard the timing if neccessary).I noticed on the EVO base maps the function is available.this is very worrying as this will result in my engine blowing up if there is bad fuel etc. and the ecu does not use this feature.i have already checked all the firmware updates and still cannot find this in the ignition setup of the menu(as this is where it is found in the EVO base maps)Can some one please send me a SUBARU ver.8 base map that has this facility on it. This is extremely urgent...if anyone else has the same issue let me know. My email adress is [email protected] thanks

Knock control for the WRXLink G3 was enabled two days ago and will be released in the next firmware update in the next few days.  Note that the feature is provided as a safety function only.  Knock Control will only help prevent engine damage if it is set up and tuned correctly...  Note that we do not provide the knock control setup numbers for the WRXLink, they must be setup for the exact engine by the tuner...

thanks for the response,we understand that we will have to customise the feature to suit the car.the safety function is what i am after, thi prevents the motor being compromised if a bad batch of fuel is used etc.i will await the firmware update or you could send it to me via email regards malcolm
