nick jenkins
Hi, Does the ECU give a voltage signal out to the temp sensor , or is there voltage at the plug of the temp sensor.
Scott
Hi Nick, The ECU uses a pullup resistor connected to 5 volts inside the ECU. The temp sensor is connected to GND on one side and the ECU looks at how much the sensor pulls the 5 volts down. The ECU therefore sees  a voltage that varies as the sensor resistance changes. Here is a picture that shows how it works, except that on a Link the pullup is inside the ECU.
Scott
Hi Nick, With nothing connected to the ECU pin it should have 5 volts present. You should be able to see what the temperature is reading on your hand-controller or in PC-Link (depending on your ECU). You should be able to see if the number the ECU is seeing is realistic or way out. Where abouts are you based? It could be worth visiting your closest link dealer.
