I KNOW IT WILL RUN BUT WAS HOPEING IT HAD BEEN UP GRADED THE NUMBER ON THE CHIP IS D42V3.190899 ANY HELP WOULD BE GRATELY APPRECIATED . ashesman Posted January 13, 2008 Report Share Posted January 13, 2008 The ECU is a V3 LEM running software version 3 still. It has not been upgraded to the latest V5 software. The important part is what sub-board is fitted inside the ECU. It is a little circuit board that sits above the main one. Get the number off that or attach a photo of it and I will let you know if it is correct for your engine... ashesman Posted January 14, 2008 Report Share Posted January 14, 2008 With that setup your ECU will run on an engine that has a magnetic (reluctor) crank angle sensor with the same number of teeth on it as the engine has cylinders... It is running V3 software and can be upgraded to V5 software. Contact [email protected] for more info... aaron.miller Posted January 14, 2008 Author Report Share Posted January 14, 2008 COULD IT RUN ON MAGNETIC DISTULATOR MY ENGINE HASNT GOT A CRANK ANGLE SENSOR .WHEN I PUT MY TUBO ENGINE CAN I RUN THE TUBO AND WATER INJETSHION OF THE V3 OR WILL I HAVE TO UP GRADE 2 V5 SOFTWARE.WHAT HAS THE V5 GOT THAT THE V3 HASNT ? aaron.miller Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 CAN MY V3 LINK BE SET UP 2 RUN A DISTRIBUTOR WITH CRANK ANGLE SENSOR IN FROM A 1982 L28 WITH 6 EVEN SPACERS ON THE TOP PLATE AND 360 ON THE BOTTOM .IF SO HOW MUCH .AND DO I NEED 2 SEND THE DISTRIBUTOR DOWN AS WELL ? ashesman Posted February 18, 2008 Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 That ECU can run a distributed setup using the 6 even spaced slots in the distributor. It will need a hall sub board fitted and you will need to shift the rotor in the distributor by drilling a new locating hole. One of our dealers did this last week. Contact [email protected] for getting your ECU changed.
