I have one in my 02` WRX Subaru, but it takes awhile to start so i took it out and put a different links system in it temperarly to see if it was the links systems or not and that one is working fine ,so I think something is going wrong with the other one. ashesman Posted February 24, 2008 Report Share Posted February 24, 2008 ECU's do not "Go Bad"... They could develop an electrical fault but not really one that would cause hard starting and electrical faults are pretty rare. Each ECU is tuned for a particular vehicle. If somebody elses ECU made your car start better then chances are it is tuned for better starting on your engine than your ECU is. Maybe you should take the starting numbers from the other ECU and put them in yours...
