Sparkystav Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 Is it available to download instead of a web page within the PClink software? Thanks Marc Quote
Scott Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 Hi Marc, The main G4 tuning manual is available only with PCLink. The wiring manual and individual plug-in ECU manuals can be found here: http://www.linkecu.com/support/documentation/g4-engine-management-documentation Cheers, Scott Quote
Sparkystav Posted August 23, 2012 Author Report Posted August 23, 2012 thats a shame its not available as a standalone document its infuriating having to have it on one side of the mapping screen as im learning, much better to have as a document i can print and study Quote
Zack Montgomery Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 I have to agree, having a paper manual is always nice. I've contemplated printing one from the help section page by page. lol. It would be nice if you guys could compile one though, I'm sure you have all the info already on a computer, just need to put it together. Quote
Scott Posted August 26, 2012 Report Posted August 26, 2012 Hi Marc, As Zack mentioned, you can open the help file and print the pages you wish. Generally if you are going to be tuning (and using the G4 tuning manual), you are going to have PCLink open. I do understand where you are coming from though as being able to read something from paper without having to switch between PCLink and the help file is useful. I will put a suggestion forward to have the manual available in a pdf format. Cheers, Scott Churchy.0 1 Quote
Nathan Stephens Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 another vote for the PDF format! i use a 10' Laptop to tune my ECU and it hurts my eyes!! Quote
Nathan Stephens Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 thanks, i'll try that! Quote
Adamw Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Here's one that I put together if anyone is interested: http://www.sendspace.com/file/zj1qkt All 1200 pages of it! Quote
murray douglas Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 any chance anyone still has this availiable to download ??? Quote
Simon Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 There is an install and wiring manual available http://www.linkecu.com/support/documentation/g4plus-engine-management-documentation/g4plus-wiring-installation-manual# Quote
David Bernardin Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 All the big forums I go on (8) will definately get a very negative response to the Link ECU's because you can't program them without spending 10 or 20 times the amount of time, because you have to read it from the help pages or from in the program. Stupid Stupid Stupid. Now I wish I never bought your stupid ECU Quote
Dave Kriedeman Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 I believe the LINK / ViPEC  products  to be among the easiest to tune and navigate around and I tune a lot of different brand ECU's. Venting in such a way on other forums I believe may make you a little stupid. Sorry, just wanted to make a point, if you live in a glass house don't throw stones. If you ask for the appropriate help instead of going off, you will find a lot of helpful people on this forum. Sometimes you may not receive what you wish for and then someone such as myself can come to your aid. But NOT with that attitude. Have a good day sir. Regards Dave. Quote
Simon Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Hi David Bernardin Given you will be configuring the ECU from the PClink and can right click on anything that you might be unclear on and the correct section of the help file will be displayed has to be easier than searching through 1000+ pages of a PDF? The pc link version is also a way to ensure people are using the most current information available. As in all things you have the choice to pick another product if you don't like the way we do things. Â Â Quote
Fredrik Pettersson Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 David , which system would you consider 10 or 20 times radier to 'program' (is this tuning you mean or wiring or just configuring ?) Quote
Darren Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Hi guys, anyone have the Manual in PDF? The other link is not working thanks Quote

dx4picco Posted February 9, 2021 Report Posted February 9, 2021 I am going to have to work on a friends e36 that that has a G4 plugin on his m50tu. Is there anything (document as plugin manuals for g4+) alike for that one? I couldn't fin anything about plugins in that pdf that you gave, and neither on the web to know on what pins are the different input and outputs, and the content of the expension loom connector? Adamw Posted February 9, 2021 Report Posted February 9, 2021 All info in terms of pinout, pin functions and exp connector are in G4 PClink help file. In terms of a PDF manual, the V series vipec one is the closest I can find: https://www.vi-pec.com/techdata/ecu-manuals/bmw-e36-plugin-manual dx4picco 1 Quote
dx4picco Posted February 9, 2021 Report Posted February 9, 2021 I promise I searched deep into the pclinkg4 help and even used the search function but didn't find it. I got it now. thank you! Quote
