Adrian Yeo Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 Hi, I have just recently got my tuner from hong kong to fly over to china to tune my evo 9 but during the process we didn't tune the cold start properly and now I have asked him to send me a new tune file via email so that I can upload it. Before attempting to do this I want to make sure I understand how to upload the new file properly as I don't want to do something wrong and later my car's tune would be affected. Can someone help me by telling me the step by step instructions on how to link my laptop to my link g4 ecu and upload the new map. I have the latest g4 pclink software downloaded and installed in my laptop already and the USB cable ready to connect to my laptop but I don't want to do anything wrong so I will wait for someone to reply me. Thanks for your help !!! Quote
Scott Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Hi Adrian, 1) Connect your laptop to your ECU with your USB cable. 2) Turn your ignition to on. 3) Press F3 in PCLink to connect the ECU. When connected the top right hand corner on PCLink will be green. 4) Click File > Save as. Save your ECU map on your laptop with a sensible name. Your base-map is now saved to your laptop, so if you need to you can later restore your tune. 5) Click File > Open. Select the new map your tuner has sent you. Click Open. 6) Click Yes to download the new settings to the ECU. 7) Click Yes to carry out a store on the ECU. The new base-map will now be loaded into the ECU. Â Hope this helps. If you have any problems or questions feel free to ask. Â Scott Quote
