Most likely issue could be the ECU is loosing power when the engine is being cranked.

This can be due to a faulty relay, big voltage drop from batter to engine.

First step will be to check the voltage to the ECU while cranking.

Also check that with key on engine not cranking you have a full 12V to the ECU.

You can check this in the ECU runtimes window. (F12)
