Levon Luther Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Am I reading this right - there is no DI3 on the pin out list, even though there is Air Conditioning Request from it? I have a plug in V10 board Trying to hook up my Ethanol sensor to something, and I dont see anything I can get rid of for sure. Maybe Simon or someone from link can advise what the three bolded items are and maybe correct some of my thinking if I am incorrect. DI#1 Speed - is this needed? DI#2 VVT Position - AVCS Cams DI#3 Air Conditioning Request. This is what I want to use. What pin is it on the Subaru Wiring loom?? DI#4 Clutch Switch - Needed to start the car DI#5 Brake Switch - Is this needed? DI#6 Digital Knock Feed Back - Using Knockblock G4 DI#7 Cruise Switch - Only DI 1-6 allow the E85 Sensor; Not needed. DI#8 Start Position - Needed. DI#9 Neutral / Park - Not needed in my opinion DI#10 Cruise Switch - Not Needed Ideally, I'd like to just delete the speed DI#1 or DI#5 and run my ethanol sensor to it. I am assuming that wont work. My Idea is that I could move my Brake switch from DI#5 to DI#7 / DI#9 / DI#10, and then wire up my ethanol sensor to DI#5. This isn't the ideal situation because I don't want to swap wires for no reason when there should be a wire somewhere. I was trying to track down where this DI#3 might be located on the pin out. I appreciate any help offered! Quote
Simon Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Do you have the 04-06 board or the 06-07? On the later ecu the AC request can be on one of two pins depending on ECU jumper configuration. Quote
Levon Luther Posted January 28, 2013 Author Report Posted January 28, 2013 I have the 04-06. 04 Specifically. I noticed that on the late model 06 and 07s that it was there, but I didn't see it on mine, yet there is a Air Con Request as a digital input. Quote
Simon Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 It will be on D16 or 17 depending on jumper locations. If you wanted to use other Di inputs Di5 or 8 would be my picks. Both are not needed for good running of the engine. Quote
Levon Luther Posted January 28, 2013 Author Report Posted January 28, 2013 10-4. I'll do some investigation to see what I can come up with. DI#8 wont work because it isn't DI#1-6 which are the only ones that the ethanol sensor is 'allowed' to go onto. Thanks Simon! Quote
Levon Luther Posted January 28, 2013 Author Report Posted January 28, 2013 I'm not sure how you come up with that, but at this point I dont care D16 - Winning Ticket D17 - Sorry try again next time. Many thanks Simon Quote
Simon Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 It depends on the model as to what each pin does on some models the functions are reversed. Quote
Levon Luther Posted January 29, 2013 Author Report Posted January 29, 2013 I checked it with that service manual and traced out the wire, I'm pretty confident it will work . The other wire went to a relay and the color didn't match per my 04 STi manual. I'll hope for the best tomorrow. I Â am planning on firing it up. Quote
Levon Luther Posted January 31, 2013 Author Report Posted January 31, 2013 I just want to report back that pin D16 did work flawlessly. I have 9% ethanol in my tank right now. Thanks Simon Quote
Levon Luther Posted March 18, 2013 Author Report Posted March 18, 2013 Another Question some what relating to the DIs on the Link platform I am trying to setup ECU logging, I can use either 'Subaru Cruise switch B'  or ' Cruise Switch' Problem is I dont know which way is which.. The lever goes up,down,in, and there is a button on the end. ... I'm leaning towards cruise switch is the button on the end, but I dont know this to be certain. Any help appreciated. Quote
Simon Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 Only advise I can suggest is to set the DI you want to us to a GP input and then try the switches with pull up off. If no action at all try again with pull up on. Quote
Levon Luther Posted March 19, 2013 Author Report Posted March 19, 2013 Thanks. Another user on the subaru forums suggested I open the status tab to see what lever action activated which DI. Appreciate it Simon Quote
