Matt Petersen Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Is this possible? I am about to install an AC compressor to use as an air pump on my 1UZFE powered Surf.CheersMatt. Quote
ashesman Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Err, ummm... better consult an air conditioning expert to see if the AC compressor can be used as an air compressor. I thought they used a closed system that contained lubricant, but I dont really know. If you have a LinkPlus G1 or G2 or an LEM G3 then it can be used to bump the idle up when the compressor is on. Wire a switch to AC In, and wire the compressor clutch through a realy to the ECU's AC Out. Matt Petersen Posted January 24, 2007 Author Report Posted January 24, 2007 Thanks Ashley, it's an original LEM so I take there is no input provision? The compressor will have an oiler fitted on the intake side to prevent it from seizing and a trap on the other side to take it out again.CheersMatt. ashesman Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Yeah, there is no input provision anyways. If you find it sucks your idle speed down to low, put an air bipass valve on that is wired to the compressor clutch to step the idle up. Quote
