David Choong Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 Hi There, I have heard that the G3's are getting phased out. When will the new G4's be released / availability and is there any information about them yet? Cheers Dave Quote
Simon Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 Hi Dave G4s are now heading out the door. We should have info up on the site shortly. Quote
Wes Harriott Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 So does this mean that there will be no more development done on the G3 platform? Quote
Simon Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 Not totally there is a firmware release coming shortly. Quote
Matt Dunn Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 will that release include the data logging? Quote
Simon Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 It won't however this is still coming. Quote
impellerhead Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 How is it going with the onboard logging update? Quote
Phil Williams Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 Hi, Sorry for the delayed reply. Datalogging is fully active when the G3 ecu has been upgraded to run G4 firmware. Please contact [email protected] for further information on this. Â Regards, Phil Quote
Simon Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 We require the serial number from your ECU to allow us to get you the unlock code. Once you have this code you can then download the latest PC Link for G4 and run the firmware update from PC Link. Quote
Simon Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 You can copy and paste most of the information over. It is however time consuming. If you open the G3 map in G4 PCLink this will allow you to copy the numbers. In a second PClink connected to the ECU you can then paste the numbers in to the correct table. Quote
bazzasti Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 I've got a LinkPlus G3. It worked fine with the early version Subaru trigger system running a lot of power. I was WARNED not to use the G3 with the later model trigger system by AVO and Phil Lowe as it caused issues with the rpm inputs and caused rev cut etc. However I thought I'd give it a go and now i've got the exact issues they warned about. The rpm mid run will go to random > 10,000 rpm. Worst I've seen is 75,000 rpm!!! Have installed new high quality shielded wiring however the issue still remains. The issue goes away when rev cut is disabled however this is obviously unacceptable. Will the Link G4 firmware solve this issue? Quote
bazzasti Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Also this is the exact type of issue. I've seen it on 3 other late model Subaru's with the later model trigger system. http://www.linkecu.com/forum/forums/lem/320182014#542589902 Quote
Phil Williams Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 Hi Bazzasti, In the last G4 firmware release Version 7 to 10 trigger decoding has had a major overhaul. This should fix the problems that people may have. Regards, Phil Quote
