Peter Snowdon Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Hi, running a G2 on my Rover 3.5 with sequential injection setup and wondering why on the 2D mode does the injector timing position need increasing? is it treated the same as the ignition timing and are they linked in single zone? what is the advantage of 2D zone over single zone? Cheers. Quote
ashesman Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 Injection timing is adjusted to achieve better economy and emissions. It is common practice to advance injection timing as engine speed increases. During tuning after fueling is correct for each zone you would adjust the injection timing to make fueling rich as possible. Then trim fuel back out. The result is the minimum possible fuel needed for that AFR. If you want you can uses a single zone and just fix injection timing, but there is absolutely no relationship between ignition and injection timing...
