Josh Colombo
I am looking for an oil temp sensor to use with my Link. Most of the normal fluid temperature sensors I've found do not typically go above 135 deg C (275 deg F). This is probably fine for most of the time, but I wanted to see if there are any sensors that work with the Link yet read higher temperatures. Thanks Josh
Jurgen Biggelaar
Hi Josh. We aren't aware of any sensors that do do this. I think really by the time your oil is at 130degC you should be pretty much shutting your engine down anyway, so that maybe a good reason as to why these can't be found. Good luck on your search. Rod Smart
Go and check out Oil Temp guages, then get the sender from one of those, I purchased 1, then later found out it was in Degrees F, but it works just as well as a centigrade sensor, mine is 2 wire, and the Link happily reads it. If I can source a 2nd cheap enough, I'll install it in the VW transaxle I'm currently running.
Josh Colombo
Thanks for the comments guys. Jurgen, yeah I agree with you on the temperature. I decided to just go ahead and get one of the standard gm/delphi sensors to use for oil temp. Thanks again. Josh
