  1. Thanks Adam

I just got the second "comprehensive update" after installing Windows 11 for my acer laptop, and now things are working again.  Must be an acer thing.

  2. I had this issue of the engine getting flooded at the track this weekend with the G4+ MINI Link plug-in.

Has this been addressed on the G4+ in the last 5 years?

Or should we do the following:

    - Check ECU ground

    - Check injector wiring

I'm assuming ECU / Injectors / Coil pack sharing common power source is non-issue since this is a MINI plug-in.

    Thanks,

    Alan

  3. This log erasure issue has also happened to me several times.  When I have a log it is fine, but occasionally (1 in 15 or 20 sessions) I attempt to download the log and the only thing there is from Key-On to download the file.  I download the log after almost every track session (I may not after warm up or qualifying which are short sessions.)  ECU logging is always On.

  4. Right now on my G4+ MINILink the only CAN setup I have is for DIYAutoTune CAN-EGT on CAN 1.

Can I also enable Mini R50-R53 mode with OBD enabled on CAN 1?  I didn't read anything in the help which lead me to believe I couldn't.

    Thanks,

    Alan

  5. Thanks for the feedback!

The dyno curves above give a 140 HP "average" using the GTS calculator.  I can make 148 HP "average" and still be in GTS1.  I have just fitted the KAVS JCW pulley in place of the stock size pulley.  This should get me to at least the 148 HP "average".  I'll know for sure by mid March.

What cam are you thinking about?  I was thinking about replacing the stock cam with Cat Cams  257 / 259 (street) cam.  This is supposed to add low and midrange power.

I was planning on restricting max HP via the E-throttle map.  You mentioned using a restrictor instead?

    Thanks again!

  6. Hello,

Here is the tune file for my 2003 MINI Cooper S that I race in GTS with NASA (National Auto Sport Association) and BMW Club Racing.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JVhjpeVhWHSubJpOya5x56rsSomkDuUw/view?usp=sharing

It is a stock MINI engine with 50 thousands over 9.3 to 1 compression pistons.  Stock cam advanced 10 degrees on a Endyn big valve head.  The SC is running the stock pulley producing 10 psi of boost max.

It is a power to weight class so we attempt to get a flat HP curve, thus the unusually timing curve.

Questions / Suggestions welcome.  I am the tuner and still learning.

  7. I just fired my new MINI R53 with G4+ MINILINK.  I made a bunch of changes to the base map to suit the new motor configuration.  Car starts and idles fine.  Have done some no load ring breakin.  Been verifying sensor reading and will start tuning Knock Control next.

The base map uses Analog Temp #2 as Inlet Air Temp with Sensor Type set to Std Bosch NTC.  I believe this is incorrect.  With the car sitting cold.  The ECT sensor and 4 EGT sensors read 24C while the IAT sensor reads 11C.  Would trying the Bosch 0 280 130 017 work better, does anyone have a cal file, or do I need to create my own?

  8. Hello,

I have a G4 Plug-In (G4 Topboard Extreme, Firmware 4.10.2) for my 2003 MINI Cooper S, and I am setting up Knock Control.

The diagram in PCLink Help labels Pin 8 as Knock 1, and it is the pin where the MINI Knock Sensor terminates.  But when setting up Knock Control the only option is ON - DI Knk Interface.  Is selecting ON - DI Knk Interface all I have to do?

    TIA

    Alan
