  1. In my previous post, I was simply giving a short version account of the phone call with SZ; that being said, it is NOT fixed.

Already tried several configurations with old hall sensor before sending it out, same result.

Waiting on the sensor to return (asked for a new sensor), will do the free air test on the new hall sensor; tested the trigger wheel, all magnets work, used three different neodymium magnets for testing and later a paper clip. Working on a rig to test the hall sensor off engine.

Confirmed my wiring is good and did a few more trigger captures; Im sending the sensor to the vendor for testing, will update thread once I hear back and have another sensor...

OK, short version; got off the phone with Specialty Z, my sensor tested good on another Z32 with a Haltech ECU. I was told another local customer to Specialty Z has the same issues with this trigger running a Link, I dont know the specifics of vehicle model or engine, but is a Nissan.

Also, the rep got someone else with misfire issues when the engine warmed up to share their settings to compare (asked if the person solved the issue, and answer is yes); the following are some of the settings (bear in mind, this is a hall sensor, 24+1 kit...):

    Trigger Type=multitooth/missing; T1 edge= rising; Sync tooth=17; T2 edge= rising.

    Will update on new developments.

  3. Trigger scopes, as requested. The issue seem to be the sensor gap changed (I must've done it last year while working on the intake/ignition systems); less than 1mm gap is no good, even 0.8mm register issues; 1mm+ gap yields no trigger errors at all, the second and third captures the gap is over 1mm, the third capture is to confirm  theres no trigger errors.

How come signal for T2 sync tooth does not show up on second and third captures?

  4. Hello everyone, a bit of a backstory: last summer I was trying to dial in the fuel table, which was difficult, however the engine ran and stayed running, despite for a pesky misfire I couldn't track... On October I did a intake pressure test, and found lots of leaks; one in IACV, another on a weld bead through a pin hole on the turbo out pipe for right side, leaking OEM boost sensor, leaking fitting on boost gauge(aftermarket) and an uncapped fitting on the inter cooler piping.

Remedied all those, however, the engine wont stay running for more than 6 to 8 seconds, starting became difficult after temperatures dropped below 80F, I still had some summer fuel blend in the tank, after much fiddling  trying to get it to stay running without success drained the remaining summer blend, today I got a fresh winter blend fuel. It starts almost every time but it wont stay running on its own; any throttle kills the engine.

FYI, I ditched the last VE table I had, it looked horrible (due to boost leaks). Im not sure which way to go, lack of fuel or too much, or some silly setting I missed... Logs are over 400kb at less than 30 seconds, cfg file is 462kb...

About the application: Z32 TT, stock turbos, 650cc injectors.

  5. I been running PCLink using Wine in Linux as a test and here are my findings, so far...

I'm unable to access the Help File (it pops up but it wont display the page/s content).

A calibration file got screwed up when I used the Linux machine to tweak some values from the Win machine calibration file.

Also layout config from Win to Linux gets wonky, some stuff wont display properly or not at all.

Occasionally it freezes when loading large logfiles.

My tuning laptop is running Win10 (*dry heaving*) and its OK as long as the system is not doing anything else...like random, unannounced updates when logging.

I have a strange problem; the injectors and ignition coils assignment are all mix up #1 injector is #2 and #1 coil is #3. The car was running fine before I remove the motor.

I reinstall the motor and now this problem arise.

I try to send the file, but I get a message that the file is over the max allowed.

    Thanks

...check the wiring; there are four coils that can be mixed up, #1-4 coils have enough length to reach the opposite bank.

HI ADAM, I CONFOUNDED TWO ASPECTS OF THE FUEL SETUP IN MY POST. I WANT THE INJECTOR DATA PLEASE, IF ANYONE CAN HELP IN THIS REGARD. I AM ALSO TRYING TO OPTIMISE FUEL SETUP BECAUSE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING VERY RICH. INJECTOR DEADTIMES ARE A COMPONENT, BUT NOT THE ONLY COMPONENT TO OPTIMISE. HOW CAN I TELL G4X THAT I HAVE INSTALLED 550CC INJECTORS - WITH A DW HIGHER FLOW LIFT PUMP - WHEN THE BASE MAP WILL BE FOR 370CC STOCK INJECTORS - WITH THE STOCK FLOW LIFT PUMP? CHEERS.

Injector manufacturer should have the data you need.

Can you attach the tune as well.  Cranking VE number is very small, typically should be 50-65% at idle and similar or higher during cranking, yours is 17.  Suspect your injectors may be way bigger than you think if VE number needs to be that small, but need to see the tune.  Also the idle valve is only at 12% (ie closed) during cranking, usually need to add more air during cranking.

And you have no accel enrichment working when moving the throttle so something is set up wrong there.

  9. Hello folks,

INFO: VG30DETT stock turbos M/T, VE fuel calc, 650cc injectors, R8 ignition coils conv (PTU deleted), dual W/B with LSU 4.9s, Link Internal MAP sensor (MAF not present+disabled in settings),  AEM IAT sensor, AEM 340lph pump, 24+1 trigger w/ four wire hall sensor.

Today engine started twice, idle was between 950-750rpm. Any throttle will kill the engine, some times it can rev up, but it has to be a slowly climbing throttle.

Base fuel pressure is at 45psi; engine running reads in the 12s AFR. I was going to include the log files, but they are too big...

Been at this for a while, running out of ideas...

It definately doesnt look happy about something related to the trigger.  When cranking the RPM is bouncing between 160 and zero and there is no dwell being commanded.  This would suggest the ECU cannot achieve sync.

Can you do a triggerscope while cranking.

Yesterday repaired the sensor ground, the wire was broken inside. Whenever I tested this wire on the CAS, some times was low resistance some times high, when I moved the loom to test the harness itself, it was good. (wire gremlins) Now the problem area is eliminated, everything is soldered.

Verified signal wires @ 0 ohm; verified power to sensor @ 12.48 vdc, verified ground @ 0 ohm. Also tried different gaps for the sensor, 1/4 turn, 1/2 turn.

I thought the ground wire repair would do it, but not; the timing light does not light up now, used the ignition test feature and my spark tester lights and the strobe lights up.

  11. Did a bunch of tests today ruling out BS. When I reversed the signal wires the trigger was not active at all, no spark.

When I setup trigger to crank, 12 tooth, the timing light came up once. I was playing around with the settings on trigger 2 when did not showed up.

Voltage at sensor is 12.48 vdc; for the ground side, there was 115 ohms (?!?) Im not sure but that seems kind of high...

Adamw: I'll log it and send it to you.

  12. Base is @ 15 BTDC; trigger offset registered at 183 BTDC, I'll check it again to make sure. Stock CAS was running with 259 BTDC before the timing belt service.

One set of instructions calls for 20 BTDC trigger offset. The other instructions have 250-310 BTDC offset.

Checked adjustment in FPR and tested my injectors, all six have 11.3-11.6 ohms, side feed Jecs 370cc.

FYI, the issue was present before the timing belt service; it had a coolant leak.

  13. Hello everyone,

I have a G4X PnP for a Z32 TT M/T, car wont start after I replaced the trigger for a 24+1 with a hall sensor. I've logged what I could, since the engine will not run, just cranks forever, never a start; I dont think is spraying fuel either.

I've reloaded and configured the base maps about 5 times, no luck; checked my trigger wiring and other related wiring, checked the configuration for the triggers, nothing. Then I stumbled upon the ECU Hold Power, Start Signal, Ignition Switch and Chassis Power Relay functions.

Found ECU Hold Power=OFF; Start Signal=ACTIVE [I had to reload the map twice for that to happen]; Ignition Switch=ALWAYS ON & Chassis Power Relay=OFF. As I read the  help file, ECU Hold Power has to be setup with a Virtual AUX, IGN or INJ output; is there any specific output it needs to be mated to or whatever is available? The engine started more than once when I had the old CAS.

As for the trigger kit, I'm not sure about the settings I found; Specialty Z and Autodream have different settings for the same trigger kit?!?! The trigger offset and sensor settings dont match the instructions, either.

Im not sure how it happened, I've never tried to wire in my ECU using the Hold Power feature and I deleted the IACV...still have the Air Regulator.

Q1: Could the settings above be the culprit of a no start?

Q2: Is there tried and true settings to get the 24+1 Cam trigger kit working?

Any help will be appreciated. Regards from Pennsylvania, USA.
