  1. well i am finally getting around to installing this.

when pairing the outputs, can you pair 3 of them together?
i will use output 1 for stage 1 which is a single DW400 pump.

i will use outputs 3 and 4 for stage 2 which has 2 DW400 pumps.

if the inrush is high, am i able to pair output 2 with outputs 3 and 4 to cover the inrush current?

Ethanol sensor currently only allows for a DI input to assign into the ecu, this could be something addressed in the firmware but currently I would expect if you want the ecu to control fuel properly when switching between pump and e85 it will need to be wired direct to the ecu.

ok great thank you. i have it currectly wired into the ECU, was just going to relocate it to the PDM since it would be right next to it.

are you planning to run 40+psi of boost?  what's the target hp?

currently we push 40psi of boost on our YSI supercharged 350z. its probably making in the 1000hp area, but we've never dynoed it. just take it to the dragstrip.

my 350z is a single turbo setup, im not sure of the boost level yet. i just dont want to run out power or pump.

At the moment you can run outputs in parallel for on/off type control only, not PWM.

    ok great thank you.

  3. hello, i am getting a Razor PDM to run my fuel system. i currently have the 350z PNP ECU.

i am going to run a DW 5.5L surge tank with 1 DW300 on stage one as the normal pump and 2 DW400 pumps as the second stage.

the DW300 pump runs 14.7A at 90psi, so that will be covered with one single output.

the DW400 pump runs 20.1A at 90psi, so 2 of them will be 40.2A.

the unfortunate thing about the DW surge tanks is that there only have 2 connection points, stage 1 and stage 2.

so im wondering if i can parallel up two of the High Power Outputs to run the two pumps, as there is no way to add a third set of contacts for a third stage.

i would also like to use the flex sensor to go into the PDM, or would it be best to have it go into the ECU?

in the spec sheet, i do not see the recommended input fuse size, what size is needed?

is there an installation or instruction sheet available? i cant seem to find it on the webpage other than the spec sheet.

also which ignition signal would i need to get form the ECU to wire into the IGN input on the PDM? would i use D10 pin 109 on the stock harness?

    stage one:

will come on with the stock in tank pump and was looking to use HPO#1.

im guessing that i can set this up in the ECU to turn on the normal pump and the surge tank stage one pump through the PDM?

    stage two:

will come on at say 10 psi and turn on both pumps.

i was hoping to use HPO#3 and HPO#4 for this and parallel the wires up onto the stage 2 contacts.

i was also told i could PWM these pumps through the PDM.

how would i go about doing that?

    based on TPS and Load(MAP)?

    thank you for the help!!

  4. hello,

sorry to bring this old thread back to life, but i recently purchased the Race Spec EMAP Kit.

    https://racespeconline.com/collections/racespec/products/racespec-emap-backpressure-kit

i am trying to figure out what sensor i need to get for it. they recommended i get the same as my MAP sensor, which i am using my built in 7 BAR MAP sensor on the 350z LinkECU.

my question is, do i need a MAP sensor or can i get a regular pressure sensor?

    7 BAR MAP sensor:

i would find it hard to believe that the exhaust would even be in vacuum, but im not sure.

ive seen some kits show them with regular PSI sensors and others with MAP sensors.

    thanks for the help!!

  5. HI Adam,

to add to this topic, what about using a wastegate or throttle body as a blow off valve?

is that possible on the G4X? specifically a 350z PNP one.

i am looking to run an electric wastegate and either a second one or a throttle body for a blow off valve. this would be being used in a drag race application.

also considering a regular pneumatic wastegate with a MAC valve for the blowoff.

looking for better boost control at launch with a 6sp manual car.

    thank you for the help!!

  6. HI Adam,

here is the tune and log file from making the changes you suggested.

    https://nasatka.box.com/s/44jew7pjzwxosiqiui904qauq2tocbl5

the car can now not idle at all with or without the AC on. with the AC on, it idles a little better with the AC on because the idle is set higher.

im guessing it needs some PID tuning, since its swinging way up and then way down on correction. i predominantly copied the idle settings out of the 350z base map for 7 bar with vvt.

the car died multiple times on my way home when it would try to idle at the shop lights. i would sometimes have to hold my foot on the gas and keep the rpm up to keep it from stalling.

    thank you for your help.

You are in open loop so there is no target.  You will need to use closed loop to have targets and idle up offsets.

I would say your main issue is the idle ign set-up, you have it set up very restrictive so it cant increase instantanous torque much when needed.  E-throttle alone is too slow to correct for sudden changes in load.

Also I dont like your E-throttle target table, generally it should have zeros across the top row.  If you attach a log of a cold start and warm up, then also turn AC on/off a couple of times when warm I will suggest some changes to get it closer.

    HI Adam,

thank you. yes ive been thinking that the idle needs to be changed to closed loop for a while now, since i cant seem to get it to be right with the AC working. it was in open loop from the base tune, same with the idle ignition.

what should the values be for the idle ignition?

the ethrottle, i was using that to keep the idle stable and to get it to idle smoothly. which is probably not the correct way to do it either.

here is a link to some logs from last night and this morning and the tune file. i also have hot start issues where it takes a while for the car to fire up.

  8. thank you for the help.

after assigning virtual aux3 to AC clutch, the AC is now working again.

the idle is not happy about it, so i will have to look into those settings.

i dont have the ac idle up option in my settings but i have the ac clutch offset. so i adjusted that from 1.0 to 1.2, is there anything else i can adjust to bring the rpm up some when the AC is on? is there an AC ignition timing increase option?

  9. thanks. i have set output to be virtual aux 3 now to be AC Clutch after posting that and seeing output said none, but didnt know if there was more to it than that or not.

i didnt find a specific output for it, so i just used the next one available after the fans.

i will try to get some logs tomorrow, as its currently raining and the roads are too wet.

    thanks!!

  10. hello,

sorry to bring back an old thread, but my AC is not working either.

i have the fans configured to come on with the AC.

im guessing because the AC clutch control output isnt set and i cant seem to find what AUX output it should be in the manual.

    thanks for your help!!

    Hi,

There are two base-maps we include with PCLink for the 350Z, the 350Z 'Auto trans' base map has cruise control configured, but the 'manual trans' base-map does not. You could use the Auto trans base-map as a reference if yours is switched off.

    hello,

sorry to bring this old thread back up, but my cruise isnt working.

i have 350 g4x plugin. i have compared the auto map to my manual map and the cruise settings are the same, but my cruise control doesnt work.

when i push the on button, the cruise light comes on the dash but when i hit the set button, nothing happens. it does not set and the speed falls.Nissan 350Z Manual trans quad VVT 7Bar G4X Xtreme Plugin - 600cc - AFR Traget - Fuel Table - IGN Table - 20220520 - 0829.pclx

  12. Hi Adam, thanks!!

ok so what you are really after is the fuel temp at the rails.

so with the the flex sensor reading the temp of the fuel coming back from the rails, that is more accurate.

ideally, it would be more beneficial if i moved the flex sensor to the regulator output. as it would be closer to the rails but not on the rails.

for the best accuracy, would you want to read the temp as the fuel enters the rail or as it leaves the rail?

  13. Hello,

in my 350z it has a stock fuel temperature sensor in the gas tank.

i have setup on an temp 3 as shown in the manual for fuel temperature.

i have setup DI8 for the ethanol content sensor, which does fuel/ethanol temperature as well.

my question is on the how is the fuel density temperature calculated?

does it average these two temps together to get the temperature of the fuel and then apply the coefficient?

or does it use one or the other?

and if its just one, which one is it?

my ethanol content sensor is on the fuel return line right at the tank, so it is seeing the temperature of the fuel right before it enters the tank.

i would imagine that the gap between these two temperature will become less as the tank heats up and the longer the car runs.

  14. Hi Adam, thanks.

so i think i interrupted your correctly.

    turn on dual tables.

    set the activation as DI9.

set table to to have no y axis and set x axis as tps and then fill the chart back out.

then set gp rpm limit table 2 to oil pressure vs rpm and fill the chart out. any suggestions on filling the chart out? i just kinda put some numbers in there for now.

what im not sure on is setting up the parameters for the gp rpm limit 2. for the clutch, i didnt want any delay in cut.

for this though, i added the startup delay for when the motor starts. i changed it to fuel cut instead of ignition cut, but left everything else the same.

is there anything else i should change?

now for the rpm limit two table when its active, it will take on the characteristics of the RPM limit configuration correct?

so the delays in that table will now apply, which is not something im sure i would want. its also on fuel cut instead of ignition cut.

the other way i could interrupt your message is to not have a dual table activation and then have the RPM Limit table 2 have the clutch on the x axis and tps on the y axis and then fill it out just like i had it before.

would that still activate when the clutch is pushed in? even though an activation isnt set in the setup?

thank you for the all the help!!

  15. Hello,

i am using GP RPM Limit 1 to cut the fuel and rpm down if a lean condition occurs.

i am using GP RPM Limit 2 to cut the ignition and rpm down via a DI on the clutch for flat foot shifting.

i have since added an oil pressure sensor and i would like to set a RPM limit or engine kill or something that will reduce the rpm or shut the engine down if oil pressure falls. similar to the example in the manual for engine protection.

    thank you for the help!!

  16. Hello,

my map sensor is showing 10 psi with nothing connected to it.

my bap sensor is showing 14.8 psi.

so it wont calibrate because its not within +/- 5 kpa, as the difference is about 30 kpa.

searching says to blow into it to raise it and then click calibrate.

so i connected my bike pump to it and pressurized it to 14.8 and click calibrate and it calibrated.

however when i disconnect the bike pump, it goes back down to 10 psi which is not correct.

how do i calibrate my map sensor or reset it without having to blow into it?

im at sea level here in tampa fl, so it should be 14.8.

this is the internal senor on the 305 z G4x plug and play unit.

    thanks

The innovate ethanol gauge uses the same flex sensor as everyone else which outputs a digital signal.  You are best to tap into the signal wire that goes between the ethanol sensor and the gauge and connect this to a DI.  The gauge and ECU can share the same signal so both will still work and no analog input needed.

is there a DI on the expansion module that's setup for the ethanol sensor by default?

Once you have accurate wideband O2 sensors - you have no need for the narrowband sensors.

Adam was talking about using a Flex fuel sensor directly - this requires only a single Digital Input. It does turn on/off - multiple times per second - and the way it does this is able to encode both ethanol percentage and temperature together. You're talking about throwing a random extra bit of hardware which takes this lovely, pure, digital signal from the sensor, and converts it to a couple of horrible 0-5v analog outputs! (Much like the wideband gauges/controllers you're using are doing).

thanks!! correct. i know all about analog signals and how they can be garbage that's for sure.

nothing more reliable than using a serial comm for wideband data.

trust me i am not a fan of using them via analog signal.

yeh i was hoping just to use the other sensors that and their outputs that i already have, vs buying all new stuff again.

i see the link ethanol sensor has a digital out on the accessories page now.

Ethanol % and temp comes from a flex fuel sensor which connects to a digital input.  You can also repurpose AN Volt 10 and 11 (factory narrowband O2 sensors not needed), and AN Volt 12 (evap press) is not used.

    HI Adam,

thanks. im looking to keep the narrow bands for the long term and short term fuel trims.

or are they not need for that?

why would evap pressure not be needed?

yes the ethanol % and temp comes from the flex fuel sensor connected to my innovate gauge.

im not understanding on how this would connect to a digital input though thats "on / off", when the output of the sensor is 0-5v for both ethanol % and fuel temp.

    https://www.innovatemotorsports.com/support/manual/ECF1_Manual.pdf - page 5 and 6

to me the would need AN volt inputs not digital inputs.

could you tell me what An Volt 5 - APS (Sub) and An Volt 6 - APS (Main) are? accelerator pedal position sensor?

also AN Temp 3 - Fuel Tank Temperature, is there a fuel temp sensor inside the tank already? or is this just sensing the air temperature inside the tank?

thank you very much for your help!!

  21. thanks!! i will check them out.

yes ive been looking at that, just not sure im ready to give up my new innovate gauges yet.

i do really like the new can gauge but for 3 of them at $400 each and then the haltech dual can lambda at $400, its a heavy investment.
