What are the axises on the 4d ignition table ?
Reading the thread, my first thought would of been gear or gear/speed ratio - to provide separate slip % and control for each gear !
For a adjustment control - install a variable resistor or voltage and setup in the inputs ! (May have to use GP)
Then use this input as the axis vs slip% in the 4d table.
All sounds good in theory, but haven't checked to see what variables are available in the table axis selection

Does the on-board knock control - use signal windowing ?
i.e. only listens for knock at so many degrees before and after firing each cylinder ?
-
Anybody have one of the vi-pec signal generators in stock ? I believe they were sold before production moved to NZ.
-
I suspect the issue isn't testing, more to do with the hardware, memory & firmware ! Similar to the reason we can't have any more tables - we need more tables !
-
Any further updates with this - See alot of other ecu manufactures are using the M&W CDI Ignition Systems - Controlled from one output from the ecu ! M&W manfacture the CDI specificly to suit the ECU and engine (# Cylinders)
This would free up 7 outputs in my case

Glad to see the intergration
Keep up the good work...

Anybody have the formula to work it out ?

How reliable are the Vipec 4 bar external map sensors ?? No offence to Vipec, but the sensor on the website looks a bit cheapo.
regards
Jim.
Hi Jim,
This is a support forum & perhaps your question would be better phrased...
Why do Vi-PEC recommend this 4bar map sensor (as detailed on the Vi-PEC website) over other brands & types of map sensors.
Also there is no technical documentation for this product in technical data section, can Vi-PEC please provide the techanical data for this sensor !

Where do I send some info ?
-
Do you have any specs or data sheet to suit this PnP !
Is it complete or missing parts like some of the other PnP units ?
8 Injector and ingition drivers ?
Any base maps avaliable ?

Can do it yourself pretty simple, but can't post info on here - what is your email address !

Sounds good,
Is the new top board with onboard knock control -Analog or digital boards & in twin configuration or single with dual sensors ?
-
Motec send their data over CAN to the dyno - so it is possible for the dynometer to receive information over can !
-
I asked this question a while ago & this was the response !
Not at the moment. It is on the "To Do List".We get more requests for the ECU to send data to the dyno, so you do not have to connect dyno sensors to the engine. It all comes from the ECU. This feature will be added first.
Ray.
The Mainline manual lists various ecu as being able to receive data - Vi-PEC is on the list !
^ This is also a function I would like to see - where the dyno information is recorded on the Vipec ECU !
Any info from somebody at Vi-PEC ?

Do a search, Ray has reccomended the NTK AFX Wideband Controller !
The AEM Inline UEGO Wideband is a competator to the LC1 & is equipped with the requried sensor grounding

Not too many days left now...

Also I think the options in the closed loop fuel control have changed - i'm sure wideband and wideband v2 existed before and now only auto - without the extra settings !
-
With the current limitations of selections avaliable in the tables & their operation - Could use AFR, Fuel Pressure, Oil Pressure etc... !
Doesn't have to be rpm limit - could be GP PWM which enables other table or modifiers - reducing boost, increasing fuel & retarding ignition + Warning light !
It would be nicer to be able to select AFR Actual vs AFR Target though !

Hey man,
Yep good idea, you can actually setup something with the current setup, but it would be much nicer to add more tables with more input / output options, and 12 tables is not enough) or at least encorperate these ideas as features !!!
2 x Tables with inputs of AFR setpoint vs actual AFR 1 & AFR 2 !
^ Then if using E85 % your stoich value changes as does your desired AFR setpoint - so more tables for E85 would also be nice
Seperate Table with inputs for fuel pressure (not voltage) vs manifold pressure and inputs for oil pressure (not voltage) vs rpm !
These tables should enable a second rpm limit & or an idiot light, whilst also provide fuel enrichment and ignition retard - Similar to a basic NOS switch setup
Lets hope they implement it

What is the difference between the old knock block and the new G4+ knock block ?
I have been unable to find any instruction manuals for either product or other information (Other than basic specs for the new model) on your website !
Is the relevant information available or is it combined with the ECU manuals & software. ?
