Thanks very much Simon,
had a 15 min window of time in the shed, armed with above info, confirm the sensor worked,
Â
it was one of the female crimp connectors, out hadn't latched in the plug and was pushed backwards/ out
sorted that, all reading properly now
thanks again

Hi All
Putting my car back together after a year off the track due to engine fail,
the car is running but,
Running the Expansion connector
An Temp 3 is seeing 100c
Same with sensor unplugged,
Same with extension wire removed
Voltage meter across Green/GND & Orange/Temp 3 - 4.96v
Voltage meter on the wires from the IAT sensor - 0.17 (10c or less out side)
-------------
What am i suppose to be seeing across GND & TEMP3
-------
I have An Temp 2 turned off due to reading -40c (sensor in the Maf has failed, but u have never used this input, always used An Temp 3)
Â
Cheers
James
Itchn to run this motor in

Ok, was the dipswitches, I thought as it was almost running that it would have been them, but
changed them & up she started.
Trimmed the main fuel to 8ms to get it idling in a stable fashion
Got the Wideband wire in, idling @ 12.1:1 so still rich but can drive in & out of the shed
Will do some more reading up on the Quicktune function, but first I'll fit the new IAT,
Â
Thanks very much for your inputs

At the moment i am running stock injectors, (grey 380cc ) At the moment,
I want to have car running before i change the injectors (1300cc E85 ready )
Someone has suggested i turn off the IAT sensor & have another crack at starting
But I'll take your advise first & try the master fuel first
Â
Once it has started & idles i can remove the manifold for changing injectors & fuel lines, then install the aftermarket IAT then set that up

Hi there
I'll start with - I am a complete novice in regards to ECU install & setup
I was hoping to get the ECU, Extra connector loom, Optional IAT sensor, Knocklink installed & running enough to
drive on to the trailer to get it tune
Already running a Innovate LC-1 Wideband sensor & Gauge, - Need to wire into the Link
Â
I have got the link running the lasted firmware,
I have started with Subaru V3-4.PCL file
The IAT sensor is seeing 100c on Ignition (car hasn;t been run for a week & its 6c outside) (causing the ecu to drown the eng with excess fuel on start attempts)
- Is STD Bosch NTC - is this right sensor, (i do have the optional replacement to installed, but i wanted to have the car running before i starting adding all extra parts.0
- MAP sensor - the sensor type is set to Subaru V7-8 - I change this to v1-6Â but then the MAP calibration fails
- MAF Sensor - Set to Subaru V7-9 ,But there is no preconfigured option for V1-6 MAF
Â
Has Anyone got a better stock Subaru 98 File that will get the car running
James
CQE WRX, 98 Green 4 door, 2.0 or 2.5ltr (depend on which one is not broken at the time), 6speed,

Hi all
Just got the ecu into the car, connects fine, all looks ok except for IAT seeing 100c when car is 100% cold
Â
thought i do the firmware update to reduce changes later on
DOS screen loads up, ask me if i want to update from 4.8.x to 4.9.3 , select Y , it then
comes up with an error that it can on complete the communcation on COM1-9 fails, with only option to exit,
http://jbondinc.customer.netspace.net.au/WRX/LinkG4%20wrx3%204%20firmware%20update%20error.jpg
Now i am unable to connect to the ecu in the car as 'ecu in boot mode, please run the firmware update again'
Â
any tips
James
Which knock sensor setup - 98 wrx - plugin
in Link G4

Hi all
Got my rex running again, ready for dyno/street/track tuning,Â
So i open up the box for my knocklink, read the instructions,
then working out the install  & intergation into the ecu is no worries, its the fine tuning the knocklink as a very novice tuner worries me. I know what pinging, but i am not confinident that my ears will know what there listening for,Â
How loud does it come thru the headphones?
Looking at the Knocklink G4 & its self calibration, this looks like a better way to go for the novice.
Note the car will be being tuned by an actually tuner, but i need to know what i am doing  , for track days, cant bring the tuner everywhere, what to be able to check the log after each session
Â
thanks again
James
