  1. I was looking into this audio head unit option as it was likely a all in one solution, car audio plus ecu display.

    The option may be as you've said to install a display unit in the spot of the car audio head unit.

    Just was hoping to have my cake and eat it. Hopefully link jump on the bandwagon of some other the other ecu platforms available and make pc link usable in other platforms and apps

  2. Hey guys so looking at options to display in my car, its running a link G4+ extreme and ive been looking at the windows based double din radios.

    The car from factory runs double din so thinking it would be a tidy option as a display rather than having a tablet kicking around (street/track car)

    The radios run on windows CE which from what i understand is a mobile/small system platform, could there be a chance that this will run PC link?

  3. ^ but then I would still have to modify the Subaru pedal into the car and I could gurantee it would be in a funny position with a fully kink in the pedal or something. This was why we decided to stick with the oem pedal.

    But thank you all very much for your advice it was exacly what I was looking for. This is why we drive link, top advice, quick advice and the technology to back it all up.

  4. Hi there so im currently putting the final touches into my MA70 Toyota supra running a G4+ extreme

    Ive decided to set the car up E-throttle the throttle body ive got is a Bosch DV-E5

    But havent come up with a confirmed plan yet for the foot pedal, After assessing the OEM pedal we have decided to keep the pedal to have things nice and factory

    and modify it as required with two sensors. I was thinking the 3-wire thru style sensor that's offered would fit our application nicely

    Something along the lines of this offered by NZEFI http://www.nzefi.com/product/throttle-position-sensor-black/

    My question is a clockwise and counter clockwise option is available, but it would be much easier to modify to have both sensors side by side but then the regarding the voltage,

    As i understand FPS main is designed to go 0-5V and FPS sub goes 5v to 0V right? or can they both go 0V-to 5V and the link will compare them happily?

    Just not quite sure on the ins and outs of this

  5. Hi everyone

    So im soon to be getting my A70 supra running after a long build time.

    Im currently looking into the wiring required to convert the speedo from mechanical cable to a full electrical system controlled by the ECU.

    Currently from factory there is a speedo cable connected to a optical sensor behind the dash that has a pulsed 5V 20 tooth wheel arrangement

    The gearbox sensor i have is a factory toyota item that pulses 4 times per rotation and works fine with 5V

    I haven't powered up the LinkECU yet as im still sorting the last of the required wiring so i am abit unfamiliar in the functions of what the Link can do

    but my question is can i use the 4pulse sender and use the link to bump it up to a 20 pulse (multiply by 5) so the dash will read correctly?

    Then i can adjust the gain on the link to get a accurate speedo calibrated via gps or similar?

  6. Thank you so much for a clear and educated answer that's exactly what i was looking for. It looks as if the Pierburg connectors are different than the walbros, the pierburg ones are more in a T arrangement but that's fine, just uninsulated spades i think are going to be the go in this case

    So im currently in the process of setting up my A70 supra with a Link G4 extreme and im looking into running flex fuel

    This question is more towards the compatibility of ethanol rather than from a ecu standpoint (if thats ok) as i know the link will run flex fuel effortlessly.

    For the people that have setup cars for E85, in regards to fuel pumps and electricity connections inside the tank what is required to be safe?

    I have a pierburg E85 rated lift pump i was planning on using but it arrived and has no electrical plug with it, its a standard two pin plug and the pump has male spade terminals on it.

    Im going to need to extend the factory wiring to suit. whats a safe way of going about this? does e85 conduct electricity? unlike petrol?

    Other components of the fuel system are being upgraded to suit, e85 fuel reg, e85 spec lines, DW main fuel pump, e85 rated injectors etc

    its just inside the tank regarding the electricity im trying to be careful about..

  8. Hmmm. well i hope that the factory abs module is happy sharing the signal with the link. It would be a shame if i couldn't run those functions

    And i really want to keep the ABS in the car so modifying the tooth count is a no go.

    If it does work, can you work the settings in a way that the launch and traction control work up to that 500hz frequency then after it hits it, Ignores the sensor until the vehicle speed drops back into that 500hz range like you say 76 odd km/h? So there would be no traction control above that speed?

    Regarding the dash converter and speedo input, im going to pull it out in the next couple of days and ill do some testing figure out what range the converter works with

  9. Hey guys, Currently wiring up my A70 Toyota Supra, with a wire in G4+ xtream

    Ive been doing a bit of research about the wheel speed sensors. With this car its a 3channel system so one for each front and a single sensor for the rear which is driven from the R154 gearbox

    Im looking to set it up for launch control and traction control

    The car runs ABS and will continue to, So i can just tap into the abs ecu and take a DI for the driven and non driven speeds?

    In my research alot of people are running into issues with the frequency maxing out at 500hz and causing issues. Will i get this problem? i haven't done a tooth count yet.

    Also the from factory the speedometer is driven by cable to a converter box that then puts a signal into the dashboard (its a 80s digital dash). Could i convert the cable to electronic sensor (as were factory in later R154s) have that imputed into the link and a output to the dash? doing away with the cable and the converter box? that would allow me to adjust the signals slightly for speedo accuracy?

  10. Hey everyone ive inherited a project for a friend. Hes got a Nissan 300zx with a VH41 V8 in it we have had it running on the standard ECU but a Link ECU package came along on trade me that came from a VH41 powered jetboat.

    Ive been through and tidied up the loom and extended a few wires here and there as they were to short for a car.

     

    Question i have is its got this separate black box. Im guessing it is the ignitor as all the ignition channel wires run to it Blue with stripes and out the other end it goes to the coils

    the question i have is the red wire that can be seen just chilling out is it connected to ign on 12v? i would think so but didn't want to damage anything...

    All the wiring info i seem to find is for the V5s with ATemp sensors and run a different ignitor
