That now sounds like base timing if you have fuel and spark then making sure the spark is at the correct time will be next.

I have spark edge set to falling should i set it to rising for this engine? As i see other guys have set it to rising.

Multi tooth position should be CAM not crank.

So both trig 1 and 2 are CAM

The set up in the MR2/Celica base maps will be very close.

Thank you Simon changed to cam as you suggested. Triggering error is gone now, but car still wont start. I have both trig 1 & trig 2 signal, no trigger errors. Has fuel & spark.

  3. Car wont start got triggering errors need advice as to why i have this problem engine is a 4efte

    Trigger1 is wired to NE

Trigger 2 is wired to G1

G2 is not wired in to nothing. Shouldn't it be?

G- is wired to sheilded ground on the monsoon i do not know if this is the correct way as this is the first time wiring up a ecu so anyone that has done this please point me where my mistake is.

Engine has spark and fuel all that needs to be done is to set the trigger offset with a timing light and see if it will start but this wont solve triggering errors.

Car runs stock distributor and batch injection.

The 4e-fte has a 24/1 tooth inside Distributor.

for triggering i have it set up as so:

    Triggermode:multi-tooth

    Trigger priority: Trigger 1

    Trigger 1 type: reluctor

Trigger 1 filtering: Level 1 (low)

    Multi-tooth position: crank

    tooth count:24

    Trigger 2 type: reluctor

Trigger 2 filtering: Level 1 (low)

    Sync Mode: Cam Pulse 1x

For fuelling i have injection rate every 1 engine cycle should i make it 1/2?

I can answer part of your question, - IGT should be connected to ign 1 on the ecu.

There is not really enough info to answer your other question about grounds without a schematic of the cars wiring.  Basically shields can be connected to sensor ground or the sheild ground pin but most importantly you need to ensure they are connected to ground only at one end.

    Hope this helps you.

  5. Thank you Cj for you input but it's not really answearing my question on how to wire in ignition to give spark! We will be using for now the 4efte stock distributor and later go to COP. Should i wire Ignition 1 to pin 22 conector 1 igniton timing (IGT)? Is this correct?

Also is sheilded grounding  wired in correctly?

Thanks will wire the tps as you mentioned.

Yes the car runs batch but will probably wire it up for sequential injection.

No we will not use AC it has been removed from the car.

  6. Hi guys i need a bit of help on how to wire in ignition(distributor) on a 4efte, also what ground is shielded and what is not as the 4efte pinout has me a bit confused here.

Here is how i am going to wire things up, please correct me if i am wrong.

    MONSOON TO 4EFTE

    14+v to pin 7 connector3 switched battery (+B)

Ground to pin 26 connector 1 ecu ground (E01)

Ground to pin 13 connector 1 ecu ground (E02)

Trigger1 to pin 4 connector 1 crank angle (NE)

    Trigger2 to pin 5 connector 1 cam angle (G1)

Sheilded ground to pin 24 connector 1 ecu ground (E1)

    ANtemp1 to pin 3 connector 2 IAT

ANtemp2 to pin 4 connector 2 water temp

Ignition1 to pin 22 connector 1 ignition timing (IGT)????

    Injection1 to pin 12 connector 1 (injectors # 1&3) (#10)

    Injection2 to pin 25 connector 1 (injectors # 2&4) (#20)

Tps will not be wired in yet as it's an OPEN/CLOSED type and the link manual says it does not support this type. I will add a vtps soon.
