  1. Hi,

I'm having some issues with my base map. I just installed a new set of injectors(1400cc). I'm using the dead time table provided by the seller.

The VE at idle numbers are very low(10) and it is still too rich 0.88 if the engine is warm and running more than 15 min.

When the engine is cold after start it all looks ok but as soon as it gets hot it gets richer.

With operating temperature it is lean for a few seconds after the engine starts and then it gets richer.

I have tried to spot the problem with the logs but I can't, could someone take a look at my log and base tune

to see if they can spot something wrong?.

The reported ethanol content comes from the frequency of the signal from the sensor.  They all use the same calibration as far as I have seen, 50Hz = 0% Eth and 150Hz = 100%.  You can see the frequency that is being received on the Digital tab of the runtimes screen.  I would say if you have more than about 60Hz showing on the DI then either the fuel is contaminated or it is a fake or faulty sensor.

Hi Adamw, I replaced the sensor and it works fine now thanks for your help, not sure if it was faulty or fake but I bought an innovate sensor(SE1004S), at least it should be genuine sensor.

  3. Hi.

I just fitted a continental 13577379 flex fuel sensor, the link storm is reading between 30 to 32% of ethanol on the pump fuel.

The tank was drained today and I put in a new fuel (99 oct E5) and it is still reading over 30%.

With advanced mode off, the default limit control range is 200RPM, this means the limiter will start fading in 200RPM below your set limit (ie 6300RPM).

Ok thanks for the explanation I understand it now.

  5. Thanks for your quick response Adamw,

The RPM limit is 6500 rpm as you can see on the attached image

Why does it activate the limit at 6087rpm?

I'm a bit confused with this.

  6. I was on the dyno this morning and I found that the car was losing power. I went through the log and I found "Limit IGN Trim  -5".

it may sound stupid but why does the ECU activate it?

The engine wasn't knocking, ECT and IAT ign trim were off.

After a few runs I have seen it twice.

    Thanks in advance

There is a native "traction disable sw" CAN input, assign this to byte 0 (start pos 0, width 8), for launch in byte 1 (start pos 8, width 8) receive it into one of the CAN Dig inputs, then assign this as your launch activation control.

Thanks Adamw all is working now

  8. Hi I’m running a link Extreme G4+ and I am trying to use a can message as an input to activate and deactivate the launch control and traction control. I believe that the G4+ does not allow me to do it but I like to ask if it will be possible.

I have created the message already

    ID 1100

    B0 : traction control

    B1: launch control

  9. If there is only positive going through the valve before the ecu is powered up it should make a single  “click” noise, depending on the frequency  written on the ecu the noise changes so it means then the ecu has got power and it is activating the idle valve. Also the engine starts and the fuel pump is priming at the same time as the idle valve is making the noise before I start the engine..

The Idle valve and the ecu have a different power feed but same time activation. I haven’t adjusted the idle control yet in case the ecu gets damaged. I have tried once to start the engine with the idle valve activated and connected and it seems to work, when the engine is running I can hear it working.

  10. I have the  ADU 7 connected to my link storm and all works fine.

You can also connect the link straight to the ADU on “CAN 2” without an external resistance, ADU software has the option to add the can bus terminator. But you need to activate it.

I can copy the last version of my ADU to confirm you all details if you need them to run your one but will need to be during the weekend.

Is the 12V supply from an ignition switched source?

Yes, it is powered by the PMU once the ignition is on, it also powers up the ethanol content sensor(it is not connected yet)

I will remove the diode and do the PWM test on Saturday will let you know the results.

  12. Thanks Adam,

I connected one terminal to aux 8 and the other one to 12V positive

    Should I remove the diode?

I will try to do the PWM test and I will let you know I didn’t actually try it.

  13. Idle solenoid

    Hi,

I have set up the idle control valve in my car using the AUX 8 on my link g4+ Storm.

The idle valve is the ford version like the image.

After selecting on the PClink on the AUX 8 ISC solenoid with 100 hz of frequency I went to idle speed control menu

I chose open loop sol/stepper unipolar (6 terminal).

The solenoid has only 2 terminals, I have also added a diode between both terminals on the solenoid side.

The solenoid is mounted on the chassis. When I’m switching the ignition on it does make a noise as long as the fuel pump is priming, is it normal?

The fuel pump does prime before the engine starts but why is the idle solenoid also doing it?

I probably did something wrong, could anyone tell me if I have done any step wrong on my installation?

    Thanks in advance

  14. Hi all,

I have fitted an xtreme ecu into a car with an LS3 supercharged engine, it runs with the e-throttle, but the response of the accelerator pedal is very slow. This is my first time working with an e-throttle so I don't know much about it.
The pedal sensor is APS72-792-S90V Variohm.

If anyone has a ls3 with or without a supercharger and can share the map I will appreciate it then I can compare and see what is wrong.

    Thanks

  15. Hi. I'm working on my car with link storm g4+ and ecumaster Adu 7,  unfortunately I have no luck with the link streams

Adu software comes already with pre-defined streams so I selected the GenericDash.

There is a photo of the message object that it shows Base ID 0x03E8.

Going into pclink software/can setup, I did my configuration as the photo, the only thing I think is not right is the Can ID, I put the value 3 because on Adu software shows 0x03E8 but Adu does not received any message.

I hope that someone have done it before and can help me with it.

    Thanks

If the injectors fire when using the injector test function the hardware and wiring is ok and we then need to start looking at set up.

We would ideally need a copy of the MAP as it is now and a log during cranking.

Thanks you for your help I will follow the instructions and send all to the help support. Thanks

How are you confirming you're not receiving signal to the injectors? Is it just not starting or are you probing some of the wiring with a multimeter?

    High impedance injectors is correct

If you pull out a spark plug immediately after cranking it is it wet with fuel?

When you ran the tests, have you got injector1 and ignition1 firing the same cyclinder, and the same for the other 3?

Right I've try to start it and it doesn't so I've fitted a light in the spark plugs and also led in the injector plug spark is fine because they're flashing but injectors they're are no flashing but as soon as you stop cranking they are flashing just one time, yes the injectors are firing in the same cylinder when I'm testing, yes injectors are high impedance.

  18. Hi all, I'm using a storm ecu in my s13 ca18det engine, I've done the setup also I've tested injectors and spark with the test mode and all is working fine, after this I'm cranking to start the engine with perfect spark but the injectors doesn't receive any signal at all, I have fitted 2200cc bosch injectors they're high impedance, can this be the problem? I have to say that after stop cranking a small signal is send in to the injectors, I'm not sure if I've done something wrong with the setup.

    Thanks for your help
