TPS Ignition map to MGP Igntion Map

I have a base ignition Map that has been decoded from the stock ECU in the car. It's a TPS / RPM based map. I was going to use this as the starting point for tuning as it works, and can get the car running.

What is the easiest way to convert this map to a MAP / RPM ignition map?

Is the car turbocharged or NA?

It will be easier if it is NA.

You can start with this :

Copy values from the table TPS=0 to MGP = -30.

Copy values from TPS = 100 to MGP = 0.

Interpolate values in between.

Mind you, it is only a starting point. You still have to get it tuned.

If the map has these settings it is using TPS and MAP, which is good.

Fuel Equation Load=MAP

Fuel Table Y axis = TPS

Ignition Table Y axis = Map

Open Loop AFR Table = On

This method uses the map sensor information for the ignition table, and as a lookup of the AFR table to know how to correct the fuel as the manifold pressure changes no matter what the TPS position.

Any engine with very big overlap cams or multi throttle bodies with a turbocharger should use this method. If the engine has one throttle and mild cams then MAP for the fuel table Y axis is prefered.

Your car is a Porsche 993?

The standard map is not TPS based.

It uses a MAF meter.

If you have changed cams, the level of vacuum at idle could be rather low.

I would suggest you use these settings as suggested by Ray.

Fuel Equation Load=MAP

Fuel Table Y axis = TPS

Ignition Table Y axis = Map

Open Loop AFR Table = On
