  1. Hi,

i've make a new post for this argument, hopenig this could help.

Anoteher question about ALS: I don't understend when exactly ecu exit from ALS routine and goes back to normal operational or wich is its trigger/tharshold the gover this:

(This car has DBW throttle, so I just use ICS overide to get more air bleed)

image.png.d391df5d95a2491d318fa7acfd8e4244.png set in this way ALS is armed when both rpm end TPS pass over this values 4000 rpm and 60% TPS.

When I release throttle, ALS system starts untill and exit fro his status when .. ?? (don't metter about 3s timeout I set)... TPS gets again over 60%+10%Hyst?

I can't see this behaivour from logs, but partializeing throttle at abot 20-30% timeing pops from ALS table to normal adv table and car jarks... that is a problem for drivebility:

    image.png.7bd5de1015a26edb2de48d18f2795ce9.png

My need is to give more smooth exit from ALS status to give more drivebility in long corners... for example EMU Black has this usefull parameter "Ign. restore and retard rate" that halps a lot (also max EGT and ECT temperature are usefull as well, but for this need I set a virtual channel on anti leg system arming...)

So what was the cure for the trigger issue?  Did you replace the cam sensor or find some other cause?

Can you attach the log so I can see if there is any way to prevent the clutch switch issue.  The lockouts are generally only assessed at the initialisation of the shift, as otherwise they may interrupt a shift if for example the driver briefly lifts off the throttle.   We may have to add something like a "maximum shift time" to this shift mode, but I would like to see the log first.

No cure at all, just happened that time and then never more...

Yes, as in old g4+ that timeout would be enough for us...

  4. Just a good update:

    image.thumb.png.5cc9d4c3f1e687ea13fb755474219926.png

Finally non more trig issue, but great result!

This was the test because  last years car runs with another kind of Ecu but this year I pressed for a change of product (in better i mean).

The only little thing I think should be share with all of you, is a little issue we had in the second test stage (for luck was a test, not in race) with flat shift:

Set in this way:image.png.7f69a87c25218799ca5b4c228c058946.png happen taht car stuck during launch:

    image.png.c9fcb5233abe9e5c75fda13c4b7e9ec0.png

That's why foot on clutch pedal (DI8) never completaly released, lockout speed reach during spin, 80% Fuel cut -> engine shut off. (Also ALS was enabled)

I've fix it up just putting speed lockout till 100kmh, but didn't understand why flatshift didn't disednaged once lockout value felt under thashold...

Can I use "Dog unloaded duration" for limit flat shift duration for every eventually?

I remember in old g4+ there were this timeout value (Max Shift time) that would save us in this cas:

Adam, I need to talk to you about ALS strategy I'd like to improove for better partializeing throttle drivebility...

    Yks, bye

  5. Actually car has COP (Denso coil) and direct spark setup. The wired thing is that this error happened just one singol time at the very first WOT , then I've run somethning like 30 wot on Dyno and never came again.

This weekend car will debut in a race in Austria, hope everything will work fine as weel...

    tks

    bye, Filippo

  6. Hallo again,

yesterday i've tune the evo 9 for hill climb I was talking about on the other topic, on dyno... anyway, every thing is quite good, but....

i've got only one odd thing I could not explain: on very first wot (after about 4 hours of dyno brake in) i had a single trig 1 error:

    image.thumb.png.f09c6f943baf9c504da4357a55371614.png

Note: this car has kiggly 12 tooth kit and modified ex cam weel as kiggly suggest.

Trig scope is quite good, each trig 2 edge is far from trig 1 edge (see scope attached).

After this only one issue car runs well all day long.

My question is: what can be the cause for this trig error on my setup?

    tks, bye

  7. Hallo everybody,

dose someone alredy used ADU dashboard with link ECU?

I'm tuneing an evo9 for hillclimb challenge that alredy have this ADU dash on.

I've tested to set as generic Dash and other type too, but do not display enythings:

    image.png.2fb955bee67376c09dd3ebec37ec8f1d.png

I think CAN line is ok because during the "test device" opartions some value are display, as gear 8, 7.4V battery and some rpm value...

can someone suggest me how to set it properly?

    tks

    bye

  8. Hallo everybody,

first question is about evo8 G4X p&p pinout: on installation manual is indicate that the clutch input is connect to pin 46 -> DI10

    image.png.c9017d2e4b283f178b491d18bdbba0dd.png

but on oem EDM connector this input is on pin 43, and also pin 46 on link ecu is not connected to DI10.

    image.png.c291cab5d9cd767e69bd78b211c96bcb.png

    Second question:

tuneing this evo8 in close loop lambda mode, i'm asking why %TPS lockout remains active (for several seconds) in this log (2nd, 3rd and 4th WOT with flat shift):

    image.png.d47b29203b9d768b380efb774ff83f12.png

Ok, I've set a very sensible value of lockout:image.png.c887ad6a0e71ed6367b9cd208d68a542.png but TPS in this log is stable at 100%, why this happen?

  9. Hallo everybody,

i've got error 77  on my new evo8 g4x tuneing, but I can't undertand why! My pedal have 2 ouput signals where 'sub' is 50% of 'main'.

Signals looks good, but why APS error accumulator grows in this way? Is this driven by difference grater tha 6% between main and sub voltage or scaled percentage?

    image.thumb.png.54facc673f128c4f965f6fe390fdf09d.png

and after that reach faulty delay and stops:

    Where I am in wrong?

  10. Adam,

i'm sorry if I bother you with this argument, but I still have issue with this flat shift:

Yesterday I've made some test for ALS functions and during flat shift still have jerking behavior (with or without ALS), this time set as 'ign cut'. I'm sure to not have missfire issue (engine runs till 2 bar smooth and fast), but this happen also at low boost (1.4 bar) and always happen during reactivation time after flat shift.

What more can I do? There is some method to make a 'low level' parameters log? that because from pc log i can't see nothing odd, no % of fuel neither ing cut but engine jerks and afr is not lean as missfire does, so I'd think could be a timeing issue or failure (random negative adv timening)... As told before, if I don't use flat shift system so releasing throttle as a normal shift, there are no issue at all..

I'm useing a oem gearbox and shift time is about 300ms where clutch remains engaged...

Finally: Merry Christmas and best wishes from Italy!!

    bye

I dont see anything obvious, although I have never had great success using fuel cut for gear shift, recovery always feels too slow when I have tried.  Does dropping the torque introduction time to zero help?

I notice you have knock control pulling timing out on the 3/4 shift, but not much on the 2/3 shift.

Finally I've tested with 0 ms, and that fix it up!!

Also tested several boost presure from 1.5 to 2 bar but result is alway the same.

another test fith only 20ms and car runs better, not jeatking, but not smooth as if time is set to 0.

Adam, Any other idea or requested test for find out how to fix and use reintroduction torque? it is a pitty can't use that function...

  12. Adam,

recently i've set knock target in function of clutch switch and his timer, it is a visrtual hinibition for CLL and Knk feedback, but no difference at least..

    image.png.fa89a02a18fc865e3a91e20a7188521a.png

I'll make a test with torque introduction set to 0...

but I really dont' now what else can be test to find out the issue... the feeling is like sparks plugs  became wet of gasoline... but can't understand why if a relase  throttle and wot again engine runs perfectly...

  13. Hallo everybody,

got a new question that I wasn't able to solve:

i've set up flat shift on my evo9 rs in this way (DI input on top clucth pedal):

    image.thumb.png.b16b2643d38f91d2b95ae1703e6f7b4f.png

The problem is that SOMETIMES as I shift gear (wot) and I release the clutch in next gear, engine start jerking as if mixture was extremely rich or just like a little 'cut percentage' remains, or even negative advance remains. If i suddnely lift throttle and wot again engine runs well (see log "jerk log.llg" shift from 2nd to 3rd gear).

    See also log attached wot2-3-4.

Generally flat shift system work quite good even if the feelig is that durin reintroduction car don't run perfectly smooth but little bit rough... but still can't understand reason why: I've tested even fuel and spark cut mode but is the same. Looking to inj time and ing angle can't see nothing odd, also can't see any percentage of Fcut or Icut after clutch relased...

    so any suggestions?

    tks, bye

  14. Ok, that's clear now, as Adma says if input level is near to saturations there are no way to fix this limit, naither working on 2nd harmonic because distotions due saturation input could be an addiational input.

I'm tunenig a second Silvia with 2jz and this time I've make the wireing and I know that trigger sensors and knock sensors wires are shield, and also in this case oem knock level input is high...

Anyway ,as Koracing suggest,  could be intersting work on 2nd resonance, but could be a reliable risk due saturation distortions... aftermarket knock senosr are cost affordable so can we say that this way is the best solution?

Does enyone tried to put a resistor (470/1K ohm) in series for lower sensor gain ? Like a partitor or a balun?

If you have a built engine then I would just use bosch knock sensor, I only use factory knock sensor for stock engine.

I've seen before popular USA wiring companies using cheap wires that aren't shielded for 2JZ loom, so also possible you could be getting interference. You shouldnt be getting such high readings just revving on idle, unless there is mechanical problem with engine or weird wiring.

I don't notice any major difference in window size between 0-30 to 10-50.

0-30 seems fine for me, always knock trace picks up any det as I listen on det cans, so I have learned to trust it.

the US company is Wiring spcialties. I'll check if wires are shield or not...

we've check several times for somthing machanical vibrations or possibile issue, but ther is nothing hitting... and engine is very smooth and silent to hear.

but let me undertend: you run 1.6bar with greddy T88 on stock internal??
