  1. Understood, Honestly I do what I can to keep ect down since this engine has a decent amount of quench and want to stay away from detonation. My ect is usually only around 170F. It must be difficult sometimes dealing with people that are totally lame to aspects of engine management setup and tuning a ecu. Had a fundamental knowledge of this but the detail you can go into is a steep learning curve. Thank you again!
  2. Thank you again Adam I will make the changes to my CLL to lockout high load and rpm, and change my update rate. One other question is my engine does not have a cross flow head (intake and exhaust are on the same side) I would assume this would have a big effect the charge air table. I am assuming that would possibly change the numbers I start with in the table?
  3. This is with the air charge approximation temp table roughed in based on the example given in the help window. Going to try it tomorrow unless told otherwise. Cheers https://www.dropbox.com/t/lB3AfyDQF7jS8IMe
  4. Thank you Adamw so far I have set my minimum effective pulse width very low, I will test a different starter (since I have another) to see if this resolves the hot start issue. Auto mode CLL has been turned one and so has long term trim to sort the fuel map out more. One question is can I use the charge temp approximation table example in the help window as a base for my table? At a loss on where to start with that, I understand the function and what changes to the table will do just not sure if say 90 is the starting point for every tune. Thank you so much for the video by the way. Awesome bit of knowledge I would have never uncovered. Is there any reason to have the CLL RPM high lockout set say lower than your redline? It is set up with RPM low lockout below idle for now. Thank you so much Adamw again I learn a lot every time I talk to you. attached is my tune with the changes so far just not the charge temp table https://www.dropbox.com/t/YexX1R4TGfhly5ql

    Hot start issue

Hi all, I have a jeep 4.0 inline 6 cylinder based engine bored and stroked to 4.7 in a 1982 AMC spirit running a Link storm x ecu. It has ls coils , bosch 312cc injectors, mustang throttle body and iac, running full sequential on modeled equation. I have about 350 miles (560km) on it since the engine management swap and after the bugs were worked out everything has been good, cleaning up the fuel table and slowly adding timing. Cold start is a little rich but alright, driving is good and the power increase is great I am having a hard time with hot starts though. After the car is fully up to temp if I shut it off and try to restart within say 40 mins it cranks over very slow and I seems like it may be detonating because of the timing. Is this because I am set up to run idle by ignition or is this not active while cranking? Is there a way to change my cranking timing depending on ECT or should I just lower the timing in the main table and have it lower all the time? Idle by ignition is a totally new thing to me so forgive my ignorance. Also curious if I should turn my closed loop lambda to auto mode from stoich mode. The ecu is getting lambda via a Innovate wideband through CAN. Can I switch it to auto mode then log it running to get my base fuel table more accurate? It runs well but is very rich up top and I am new to fuel and ignition tables as opposed to jets and advance springs. Is there a way to see where the fuel and ignition tables are being populated when looking at a log like when looking at the tables in the tuning screen? Have also seen a error about fuel calculation clamped at its minimum value and to check my fuel tables, I read that it is about the minimum effective pulse width but I cannot find any good data on these injectors about dead times they are bosch 0 280 150 218 312cc at I'm pretty sure 43.5psi I am running 50psi though. Everyone on here has been great and helpful! -Jimmy https://www.dropbox.com/t/rRxSqlaX2jSoOf47 Also have what I think is a lean stumble on tip in at a take off from a stop that wasn't there before I had it leaned out the startup a bit. Should I just add fuel to the main table there tip in is from a takeoff?
  6. This is one from today with all the setting changes that you suggested, let me know if anything else looks off. Thank you again https://www.dropbox.com/t/47yClOPVblE5XCYU
  7. Here are a few logs, is there a way to send a longer log? PC Datalog - 2022-06-26 9;50;46 am.zip It will only let me send tiny logs for some reason. I can only go 16.2kb now and have no logs that small
  8. I could have sent the wrong log over. Will send another when I get my steering column back together.
  9. Once again thank you Adamw. Changed those settings and it seems much happier now at least at idle. Yes iac does work, will have to send logs back to the guy I have tuning the car to smooth some things out im sure. This is a log from after making those changes. 10. Hello I have a Jeep 4.0 based engine bored and stroked on a storm x ecu running factory jeep trigger pattern with jeep 2000 selected and factory triggers (hall effect). Running sequential on modeled equation, ls coils, bosch 312cc injectors, mustang throttle body and iac. Have had the car running now for a bit going back and forth with my tuner sending logs and getting revisions. Finally got to the point I could drive it to work and lay into it for some good data. Everything has been great and good power. Now when I start it it will run great for 15 to 45 seconds then the ignition angle gauge in the tuning screen starts fluctuating badly, I have tried 3 different new crank sensors with the same result. Car ran great for 3 days with no issue and nothing has changed since then. Factory shielded link wires to both triggers with no damage, continuity between trigger plug and ecu header connector for sensor ground and signal. Have verified steady 5v to the triggers even when ignition angle is being eratic, have also tried all different air gaps on the crank sensor with same results. Attatched is a log, a trigger scope, and my tune. Any help would be appreciated cheers - Jimmy PC Datalog - 2022-06-18 12;27;49 pm.zip TriggerScopeLog9.zip spirit jimmy dean new (4).pclx
  11. Understood thanks for the help and diag Vaughan
  12. I have downloaded the beta software and firmware, ecu is now running in normal mode. Jeep Cherokee 2000 has been selected as trigger mode and timing seems correct. With the set base timing to box open and trigger offset at 0 I can get my timing light to go to 0, 8 , 10 on my balancer when commanded to in the lock ignition timing to box so it seems the trigger issue has been resolved hopefully. The pulse from the timing light seems to be much more accurate and regular with these changes, I had almost thought it was dying before but i thing it was the signal its been getting. Will try to start it within a few days and update you. Let me know if you want a scope or a log. Cheers One thing is the Hz bar in the upper corner is only between 28 and 32 it used to be around 60hz not sure if this matters at all.
  13. Sounds good I will do that this weekend and let you know how I make out
  14. Thank you very much adamw
  15. Tried that as well also with backfires. It ran well for a short time at 309°, turned it off to out coolant in and it wouldn't run again with no settings changed.
  16. If I get my timing set with the set base timing box open lock ignition timing to is set to 12° offset is set to 51° and the timing light shows 12° on the balancer then shouldn't my crank trigger offset be 52° in the calibration setting? With that setting in as the trigger offset i got a big shotgun like backfire through the exhaust, with that I set the offset to 309 thinking I may have put the cam synchronizer in with the engine 180° out and it ran but will not again. I am going to bring the engine to tdc and set the cam synchronizer again tomorrow though im almost positive it is in correctly now. Again thanks for any insight. Cheers
  17. Jeep 4.0 based engine. Bosch 312cc injectors, individual ls coils, gm 3 bar map, gm ethanol sensor, ford iac, mustang throttle body. Factory jeep type crank trigger as trigger 1 just on the balancer instead of flywheel, hall effect. Also factory jeep cam synchronizer thats hall effect as trigger 2. Running full sequential on the modeled equation. What would cause it to run one minute and not the next with the same settings? It ran with 309 crank trigger offset perfectly then 15-20 mins later it won't run at all. Also the ecu will not save my settings sometimes after I save them? I have seen protocol ecor code come up multiple times before, I have seen the hrz number in the corner be at single digits to 30 when it is usually high 50s low 60s, it has tried loading a tune by itself while cranking and you have to press not not to load a new tune(has done this once). Pc link also seems very laggy since my firmware update. Is there a way decisively to tell if there is an issue with the firmware or memory? Attached are my tune, a log, and a trigger scope. Thank you -Jimmy 582.llgx PC Datalog - 2022-05-8 1;31;11 pm.llgx spirit share file.pclx

    Ecu safe mode

Tried to get me car running today and ran into issues. G4x stormX I have thought there has been something off for a while when somestimes changes saved to my ecu sometimes would not hold. Had the car run very good, almost perfect for about 10 seconds then shut it off to put coolant in. Ate something and 15 mins later with the same settings for everything it pops out of the intake like timing is off. Change 2 degrees and it backfires out the exhaust like its changing 50 degrees of timing. Clicked on ecu firmware update for some reason and saw that the ecu is in safe mode and to contact the dealer, tried updating it again and it says the same thing. Insight would be wonderful this has been a struggle and seriously hope there is not a problem with the ecu itself
  19. These are the logs I got from tonight after changing sync tooth count to 1. Checked my timing and it is at 0, going to get some help with the fuel and try to start. Thank you much
  20. Sounds good, I will try to check timing hopefullytonight. Will also bump the fuel. Think I should still set sync tooth to 1? I will later and take another log. Cheers -Jimmy
  21. You're the man Adam that was it 100%, changed trigger one to 3 gaps and now have spark and injector pulses! These are the logs after i changed the gap count. Thank you again. PC Datalog - 2022-04-24 8;21;21 pmwithspark.llgx TriggerScopeLogwithspark.llgx
  22. Hi everyone, I have AMC spirit with a jeep 4.0 inline 6 based engine in it that I converted to efi. Running a link g4x stormx, 6 ls coils, bosch 312cc injectors, ford 5.0 throttle body and iac valve, gm 3 bar map, gm ethanol sensor, factory 2001 jeep cam sync as trigger 2, and a balancer made by hesco that is the same trigger pattern as the factory jeep 4.0 one (factory ones were on the flywheel/flexplate) as trigger 1. Both triggers are hall effect and trigger pullups have to b on to get an rpm signal. Trying to run sequential fuel and ignition, There are no faults on the ecu and everything seem to be responding correctly. My coils and injectors fire when preforming the test in the ecu menu in there assigned positions. The problem is I get no spark while cranking, I dont think the injectors are firing while cranking either but im trying to get spark settled first. Grounds and voltages have been checked with no difference. Attached with be my tune, a log, and pictures of the factory flywheel pattern and the damper im running with the pattern in it. any help would be appreciated thank you very much Cheers - Jimmy PC Datalog - 2022-04-23 7;34;37 pm.llgx spirit share file.pclx
  23. First time diving into EFI. Yes is is the factory trigger pattern that should be 18-2-2-2 and the half moon in the cam sensor. Will be running ford ev1 24lb injectors for now since I have them. Yes on the ford idle valve should be 50-100 Hz from what I have read. Gm 3 bar map sensor, factory jeep coolant sensor (can easily be changed) and a walker 210-91002 intake temp sensor. I have a picture of what I have things connected to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  24. Hello all. I have installed my g4x stormx ecu in my car and wondering if anyone would have a base file or template I could start with. Engine is a jeep 4.0 based engine thats been worked over quite a bit. Just seeing if anyone has set up a jeep 4.0 in a link ecu and would be willing to share their base file. Thank you
