  1. Hi forum I have a boat with a 3.8 V6 Series 2 (VS) commodore motor in it. Been running a link G4 mint for the last 8 years. Got to boat ramp, threw boat in, turned over, but sounded like it wasn't even trying to fire (spark) Walbro fuel pump was priming etc as per usual. Gave it multiple attempts turning over, but now nothing. Have a light that shows power to ecu which is now not illuminated. No blown fuses. Is there an internal fuse inside the G4 unit? I'm guessing the ecu has just sucked the kumura. Currently No power, no fuel pump priming, no starter motor engaging. Everything else, (trim control, stereo etc) working as per. Any suggestions, advice etc will be appreciated. Just got to the Bach we rented for the long weekend. Insert sad face here. Cheers At Lake Rotoiti (Rotorua)
  2. Mate, can't believe it... how good. Thanks so much. I'll get the new shift plate in and set up, and throw her into Lake Rotoiti and have a play around. I'll let ya know how I got on! The rough engagement and at a times sticky disengagement of gears has literally been the one disappointing thing about the boat! Can't wait to have a crack at it! Thanks so much!!!
  3. I believe it is just a Link G4, not G4+, but I can confirm. I dont know much, but Im 99% sure it has Flat Shifting option as we discussed this as an option back then. Was installed and Tuned by Protune in Manukau about 7 years ago. I believe it will be momentary, not remain open, but again can confirm. I have a new Shift plate and microswitch unit coming from Mercury (see picture) As pictured it is in neutral, The cam will move up or down depending on it going into forward or reverse, but the cam only hits the switch momentarily as it moves past the switch.
  4. Probably a bit of an odd question, but let give it a go. Im running a LINK G4 on a 3.8 V6 Series 2 Commodore motor matched up to Mercruiser Alpha 1 Leg in my Sea-Ray boat. With the stock Mercruiser motor, when shifting into or out of Forward / Reverse a microswitch is hit which retards/kills timing for a sec to drop rpm and release load off the gears, making for a smooth shift in/out of gear as its a dog box. I am wanting to set this up so that I dont "clunk" in and out of gear, and eliminate the possibility of the load on the gears preventing it dropping into Neutral. Can flatshifting be set up to work at idle rpm etc? Has anyone got experience with this? Appreciate any help or insight
