  1. Once again thankyou Adam!!!
  2. Howdy All Is anyone able to confirm the correct pin out for my Denso COPs. Theyre Volvo part number 8687939 and Denso 099700-0890. I've found this diagram online but I've no idea if its correct. I've also read that pin 3 isn't required? Also is there a way to check them without my ECU on hand (don't have it yet), ie continuity or resistance. Can I rig them up, manually trigger on pin 2 and watch for a spark?? Thanks in advance. Liam Mc

  4. I also asked this question on the Facebook link group and the following UK based tuners were suggested. I add them here to help others should they seek the same information MB Garage Service and Motorsport Bailey Performance in Telford Dynatune in East Kilbride Autodynamix
  5. Many thanks! I'm feeling a lot more confident now. I was a little worried to begin with! I also posted a question on the Link Facebook group for UK tuner recommendations. I'll cross post those here maybe to help anyone coming behind with similar questions.
  6. Looks like you were correct, I missread the line style for CAN control. I tip my hat to you for such niche knowledge. Thankyou

    UK based Tuners

Thanks to Adams help on my other thread I'm all set to pull the trigger on an Extreme ecu for my Volvo B8444s v8 project. Quad vvt, e throttle, cop etc. I contacted a number of UK dealers today and whilst they all seem more than happy for me to drop the best part of 2k with them. The only link dealer who is near me isn't willing to scratch setup my engine as they're not familiar with it. They were very helpful and generous with their time on the phone however. I'm still waiting for the next closest 2 places to get back to me regarding setup/mapping however. Does anyone have any uk based recommendations for places that will be happy to scratch setup and tune my "unusual" engine. Thanks in advance. Liam Mc
  8. It looks like it's a CAN controlled e throttle. Unless I've misunderstood the diagram. Thanks anyway.
  9. Thanks Adam, thats enormously helpful (and ressuring). I'm definately going to sell my other ECU gear and migrate to Link. I already have an e-throttle body which came with the engine. I've assumed i can use it, is that right or do I have to acquire a specific throttle body?
  10. Howdy all, I'm Liam Mc from Wales in the UK. I'm currently a good way through installing a Volvo B8444s V8 into my 1987 Volvo 240. Few piccies here if anyone is interested Linky. The engine is a bit of an oddball and isn't commonly used. It has COP, quad VVT and I'd like to utilise the quad VVT to avoid having to lock the exhaust cams. Also I'd quite like to retain the e-throttle. I have a competitors ECU ( i got it before the engine when I was installing a straight 6) and it doesn't officially support quad VVT hence me looking at Link (after following Bad Obsession Motorsport). I've pretty sure a G4x Extreme is about right. Therefore my questions are as follows. 1. Is this the right ECU for me? 2. Is this CAM trigger pattern something which is either allready available in the ECU software or can it be programmed in easily? 3. Also any other advice would be most welcome. Many Thanks Liam Mc
