    Cam Level Sync

Ok, no wonder i couldnt get the trigger offset adjusted. Im having a 3 tooth trigger on Crank (stock and hard to change /dont want to change it) and looking for a way to get the engine starting faster. I assume i could use a 2 tooth trigger on cam (180 deg between) and put it to sync "Crank Pulse 1x" Then it would get 1 signal /1 Crank rotation. Instead of 1 signal/ 2 Crank rotation, what i have now(1 tooth on cam). This should in theory split the cranking/starting time?
  2. This CANNOT be used with a Multitooth trigger (no missing) on crank ? (And ofcourse a 180 deg half moon on cam). Am i correct? It needs a Multitooth+Missing on Crank ? (this is what the manual says) :?
  3. Yes i had the same problem, good that someone found a solution. I got it working now 8-)

    Long Start?

Been testing with Cam level, no affect. I believe now it has something to do with warm up enrichment. Engine start fast/good when @ 50-60C. Maybe too little fuel or too much.... hmmm. But @ idle with cold engine 10-15C AFR is around 11,5, then leans out with temp to 14 when warm 70C.

    Long Start?

No, 98E5 . Always same fuel. My cam trigger is a hall sensor and the triggerwheel is Half/Half. Should i use cam level instead of cam pulse. Could this affect the starting? What are the benefits of a cam level type of triggering? It gives 2 position signals? Rising+Falling, instead of just 1 ? Many cars seem to use it.... And i always let the fuel pump do its prime, before cranking.

    Long Start?

Still having a long start :? Been trying out all the crank enrichments but doesnt seem to affect. I watched a video of a Mercruiser MPI starting and it start up alot quicker than my engine. Guess i need to check how fast the ecu gets the triggers and sees rpm.....Will do that tomorrow. And as before engine runs without any problems etc The engine doesnt "FIRE UP" like most engines. Maybe it is a "hard start" after all but whats causing it is another thing...
  7. Good you got it sorted out

    Long Start?

Im using key-off for stepper reset+ecu hold power and key-on fuel lockout is 0 sec. Just feels strange it takes so long to start, my car start alot faster....when it starts the rpm goes upto about 1200pm then comes down to idle speed 600rpm, so i assume it is getting enough air @ start. Uploaded my map if u see anything strange in it.... 8-) base map 7-2012.zip

    Long Start?

Im having "long" start with my engine. its a 4.3 V6 Triggers: Crank 3 teeth/Hall, Cam 1 teeth/Hall. I understand the engine might need to turn 2 times (depending on engine position) before it gets signal from Cam and start injecting+giving spark. But starting just seems longer than a normal car engine. Same thing with cold and hot engine. It starts immediatelly when it starts, so its not a hard start, just long.... I tried Pre-Crank prime, no affect. Engine starts to 1200 rpm then comes down to idle speed 600 rpm Maybe its just because of the triggers? And its not really a problem, just a "Feature" ???
  10. Press lightly on the the throttle while starting. If the car starts ok, then its a air issue/idle control valve. If it doesnt start its a fuel issue. Have you tried using the pre crank prime ? Might be good to use with E85
  11. Yes, that is also the reason i chose vipec, great features and good support.
  12. Do a firmware upgrade and run the map again. Might be a bug in the software.....if it doesnt work, its hardware related and non fixable
  13. But if the ECU works if u have it powered from an other powersource, the problem must be in the cars wiring/powersupply
  14. Have you measured the supply voltage when the problem appears? That seems like a power supply issue, something wrong with the cars electric system, fuse, relay or ignition switch. When there is a bad cnnection somewhere, it starts to heat up and voltage drops....
  15. My trigger problems werent electrical, my trigger wheel was bad/wrong type and gave occasionally faulty signal etc...and the problems occured only when engine was running/starting, power on everything was fine. So your problem must be electrical. Can you upload your map so we can have a look at it ?
  16. Yes, that looks like some MAJOR interference or some input is connected/setup wrong. I had same kind of issues when i had my trigger problems and got loads of errors and basicly everything was Fu**ed up- Its something simple, you just need to find it. How is ur Sensor grounds connected etc? trigger grounds?
  17. I assume this happens when power is on and engine not running (since voltage is 12,5)? I suggest you double and triple check your wiring, turn off all analog/digital inputs and auxoutputs. If u have relays connected to auxoutput remove those. ' Because if u have a relay connected to auxoutput and straight to battery + you will have a backfeed problem. Atleast when turning the power off @ the +14 terminal. Might not solve your problem, but worth a try. Good luck
  18. Try setting the Anvolt 4 as "Voltage 0-5V" and not "Wideband" Then it should show the input voltage and not AFR. This is how i checked/calibrated my MAP sensor. To view the input value goto: View->Runtime Value List->Analog Inputs->AN V4->Double click and press Ok.
  19. Ok, thanks. Do you have any good suggestions for a knock sensor+module/amplifier to use with a GM 4.3 V6 ??
  20. Hello, I have a knock control module (GM) that gives 8-10v DC when NO knock is detected and 0v DC when knock is detected. I assume im suppose to connect it to the 0-5V analog input, but how does the Ecu "Read" the input? Is 0v knock conrol ON and 5v OFF ? Or the other way around ???
  21. Looking good! Hyvältä näyttää!
  22. I got it working. I selected digital input as "Speed" and used it with the ISC.
  23. Hmmm, i think it has to do with the vehicle speed signal missing. I have no speed sensor connected to the ecu.
  24. It doesnt seem to be adjusting the speed at all. Engine speed changes only when i change the values in the Base Position Table. Startup Step Table is working OK. Engine runs and idle smooth, TPS is calibrated (will check that again), Stepper motor moves the right way, Engine running temp 80-82 C. The Idle RPM Table values has no affect on the idlespeed....Must be something simple i have missed.... Base Map 6-2012.zip
