  1. If quicktune session is on and cells are adjusted during the run, software marks them green.

    1. It seems to me that if you shut off the engine, it disconnects from software but quicktune staying active and running again next time engine is started.

    2. The only thing you loose is the cells tuned if you don't hit Ctrl+S

    Can someone confirm both please?

    V88 with latest available firmware

  2. Hi Adam

I swapped the engine and as you can guess new has different parts. It shows now random knocks (2-4) sometimes when TPS is less than 40% and slight deceleration . The two tuners that have seen the logs are puzzeled. The only sensible suggest so far was from Ray Pampena who modified many of these engines "What is the knock voltage that you are seeing?"

    What should my answer be?

    Thank you in advance

    Stefan

  3. is there any way to check i have my CAN wires correct, i.e what happens if CAN wires are backwards? how else can i verify the vipec is sending CAN packets properly? I assume it is but it would be great to confirm 100%. ill do some more debuggin in my code to try and see if the CAN sheild is actually receiveing any packets from the vipec

I suspect it is in the code itself rather a hardware problem

  4. thank you for confirming that Scott

i really want to leave downgrading option as last resort (a lot more to modify in my code)

i figured out the DI6 speed possibility but i believe i will loose the ethanol temp that way, is there any way of keeping the duty as well, so then it can be recalculated as temperature in my code

  5. log file has DI6 speed only because I named all parameters in array in my code. The stream contains the data but reads 0 all time. in runtime values it shows 56.9Hz. If shown as % ethanol then it shows 6, and also the temperature reads correct in VTS screen. I write the code so any data can be calculated and adjusted to correspond to the real number, sadly it reads 0 only. if you look at the figures, you will see that all numbers are raw data (as sent from the ECU)

i saw in the software update log what do you mean. 4.9.9 onwards does not stream frequency data for digital inputs. so it means my code is good and ECU stream is right. how to trick the ECU to send any data as speed then???????????????????????

  6. cool :) make a little youtube video. I'm sure there are others interested in something like this.

    Hi Scott

i remember speaking on the phone a year ago about the data stream from V series

as you can see i got it now, fully working at 7 fps and logging the data on SD (1Mb per 1hour, all 56 parameters)

BUT...... there is always one but

i flipped my whole code upside down and i still can not read DI6 which suppose to be %Ethanol.

i see the reading on the laptop, but not on the screen.

i read DI3, DI4 properly and see them on the screen that are streamed before

i read Target AFR and see that on the screen as well, streamed after

you can see in the log file, the values are correct before and after DI6 but it shows zero

as per the short/long data stream description it is a word with multiplier 1, offset 0 and no decimal point

    please HEEEEELP

  7. hi Simon/Scott,

its been a long time since i have not teased any of you guys

i just noticed that V88 firmware 4.10.2 after all cylinders are assigned to one Knock I-trim table it looks to me that calculation ignores the table

you can see on the log file Cyl-1 Itrim = -11.5' and on the list parameters on right, but the IGN angle is adding Table 2 and transient and ignoring the figure of -11.5'

can you please have a look into it and clarify

    kind regards

    stefan

  8. can someone please clarify the difference of the speed inputs

what is the difference between speed, ground speed, drive speed, input and output shaft speed ?

which ones are what so i can set them up for the traction control

    regards

    stef

  9. hi Dave

not offensive but a bit cheeky

did not meant to be mean though

only because the amount of posts i thought you are part of the team and pretty much all of us are mad that traction control is still not in

i hope you will continue to help

    kind regards

    stef

  10. as I said earlier - IT IS POSSIBLE

    here is the solution Dave:

if you listen (read) carefully, then you will see DI 4 and DI 6 are wheel sensors. last table available is 4D ignition correction, but there isnt available table - it WILL become spare when ECU logging is OFF. hence VA 3 will be available as well.

i know that you said that is still not possible, but you are terribly wrong.

using VA 3 as simple flag and then VA 2 as switch!

    so job is done!

if you need a help with TC coding (i believe your developers/coders wasted a lot of the resources and i have couple dusty trophies as program developer/coder) i can give a hand Simon

  11. just to enlighten the engineers and Simon

if you guys can not see a reason then why there is an anti theft DI

please do not try brush under the carpet the lack of NOT, XOR in logic list

the exact reason is that i have left the car in a well known garage for suspension check 3 years ago and when he came back from a road test the Active Aero fault light was ON (system comes on ONLY above 70mph). The bugger does not need to drive with 70 in the city, where the limit is 30, to hear any suspension knock! does he?

as we previously discussed we DO NOT have a spare table because ONLY 12 available and because the lack of TC

i developed few programs in the past, and i can assure you that something inside is telling me, it is 100% possible to be done without DI

    so to summarise:

DI 4 and 6 are driven and un-driven wheel, the 'spare' table is 4D ignition correction depending on %slip

only when the software reveals the hidden options (more tables, traction control, etc) then we will have some available

my personal view is that collecting feedback from existing customers, which helps to improve your product, will then require at least to give them reward

reading other posts i was surprised to find that you can not endlessly add features. unfortunately if customers demanding it, the developer should provide it. there is much more than price and service - it is trust. taking a decision to stop firmware updates for V series is turning your friends to foes
